Yes, a flawed human being who brought dignity to those who needed it, he knew it seems how to bestow hope on those who needed it most which is something that i feel is God given. and i think he could be a sparker

Seems impossible that all the sons are gone now. It is amazing all he has done. What a tragedy for the family.

It is very sad. Both parties respected him and he had a way of bringing them together on some issues. He supported Clinton when they tried to pass a national health care plan. He will be missed. Sad for that family after his sister just dying and now him.

Access to preventive health care for all

Friday, August 21, 2009

Everyone should have access to preventive health care! That will ultimately lower health care costs more than any other action that can be taken. Everyone also needs education on the benefits of healthy sleep and relaxation techniques. We also need education on the side effects of medications, and the dangers of believing there's a pill to solve every problem. Most of us need to take more responsibility for our own health and well-being. Congratulations to those who are already on this path!

Prevention is the best medicine

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

It's an old "saw," but certainly is true that prevention is the best medicine, as is "Prevention is worth a ton of cure." I'm really looking forward to having a healthcare system that promotes prevention instead of just treating the problems. People should have support available for healthy programs that teach everyone intelligent nutrition and the best workout methods. The payoff will come in better, healthier living for all.

Health Care Reform Issue

Monday, August 10, 2009

Suddenly, as a volunteer, I'm involved in campaigning in support of health care reform this week. Our very intelligent, extremely hard-working US Rep. is out on break (as they all are this month), and he's being attacked by people who just don't understand that our healthcare system (that I've worked in for years) is terribly broken and cannot continue. It's collapsing under its own weight.

I believe it's critical for people not to react with knee-jerk fear of what they perceive as the unknown. Predictions being bandied about by pharmaceutical companies and insurers who have been making out like bandits for decades are pure falcifications they're fabricating to try to protect their turf. We CAN'T AFFORD THEM! They must modernize and find moral alternative ways of producing income that aren't hurting others to satiate their greed.
