Finally got to start at the new work location ...

Thursday, February 24, 2011

but it was VERY slow today. My actual supervisor is still without power at home, and running with a generator and a fireplace - as are thousands of people here in Michigan after Sunday night's ice storm -, so she didn't make it in. I just answered the phones. More snow is expected tonight, so they don't know whether they'll be open tomorrow or not.

Having problems with Spark today

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

For some reason my Spark pages - specifically my Sleep Challenge Team pages - are left on yesterday, February 23. Yesterday's status and blog seem to be gone from there as well. I haven't sritten anything reportable, of course; so I'm left wondering what's causing the problem.

Well, yesterday I was trying to get my three points for reading the recipes and the place to click was not at the bottom of the comments. I sent a message to SP so maybe it will be fixed.

Good luck!!

Job start postponed due to snow & ice storm

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Because the owner of the new workplace had no electricity at home and was "iced in," I have yet to start at my new job. Still excited, though!

Last day at previous workplace

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Yesterday was my last day where I'd been working for the past 15 months. I'd been cleaning up my office for some time, but there were still a few things to take home with me. When I started, that office space was a disaster, so I was trying to tie up all the loose ends and leave things in good shape for whomever is in there next. Then there was an exit interview, and after saying goodbye to the others, I was out of there. The whole week has been exhausting, partly because I hadn't been sleeping very well some nights. I went to bed early last night without even following some of my usual routines, and I think I was out before my head hit the pillow. Got up once, and went right back to sleep. Felt much more rested this morning. Very much looking forward to starting the new job on Monday morning.

its funny how ending something makes you so tired. i just recently went through changes within my job and all i could do was crash. sleeping was all i could do. i am starting to get my energy back and working hard at being me again. i have a tendency to give my job more of me than i should. small steps. Your blog reminded me that I am not alone and its part of change. Enjoy your new job...I hope it is everything you want it to be!

Great job interview

Thursday, February 17, 2011

The interview yesterday was just GREAT! and I'm so excited to be going to help a small non-profit that assists other-advantaged folks in preparation for work, and finding jobs! Closer to home (I could ride my bicycle), and only 4 days a week instead of 5, so less travel cost.
