I must say I really like myself...in the buff, naked, nude. I am a full-figures thing of beauty. I do not feel constrained by the clothing that tends to pinch here or there, and restrict my movements. Girls, most of you complain about how you look in a swimsuit. I know. I used to. No longer. I feel more at ease in a suit than in most anything else. It is made of nice stretchy material. And when I am in the pool, I am a goddess, a superstar. I can move, virtually pain free.

Ah, back to the real world. Where I need to find jeans that fit.

I value my independence to be what I want to be--free to do what I want to do, sing what I want to sing, dance what I want to dance (Starting to sound like that Addams Family song) say what I want to say,and mostly to think what I want to think!

1. go on vacation. I dont know why this works, it doesnt really seem like I'm eating a whole lot differently than my usual, except for an extra glass of wine, dessert, maybe a little snacking. It couldnt really have added up to 3500 calories more each and every day for a week?

2. Develop back pain so bad that you must seriously curtail your exercise regime for that same week. Boy, I must sweat off some serious calories when I exercise, because when I dont, the weight really climbs up, up, up!

    you don't!!! There's 3500 calories in a pound of fat. . . if you gained 7lbs, you'd have to have eaten 24, 500 calories - - - in a week - - - plus whatever calories your BMR consumes!! NOT possible!!

I have been watching the History Channel's "America, the Story of Us" and also recently "The Pacific" on HBO. Have made me think about the soldiers and citizens who came before us who have created and protected our country. Thank you!

Today I did the Chicago "Bike the Drive", all 30 miles of it! Lake Shore Drive is closed to traffic. I got to watch the sun rise over Lake Michigan at 5:30 am. It was beautiful.

The city did a very nice job of directing traffic, and providing refreshment. Biking is a great way to exercise outdoors in the summer weather. I saw people of all different age groups, from little ones to seniors. Also different sizes and shapes. Many rode tandems or low-riding trikes of some sort, and I also saw alot of decked out and tricked out bikes that were well, difficult to describe here.
