Well this journey is so slow.....but time is flying by. I can't believe we are in August already.

I started a new workout program by Beachbody called PIYO. It's combo of Pilates and Yoga. It's a great workout since I'm having issue with my knee. I need surgery but I'm not rushing into that. I really want to get down with my weight before I even consider doing surgery.

I started yesterday making sure to measure my foods and I'm trying to eat every 2 hours. This is one of my big problems not eating enough. The things I like to eat a lot of is not the good foods. lol This is day 8 and no cream in my coffee this is another biggie for me because as my husband says would you like a little coffee with that cream. I know this was a big problem with the weight.

August here is not going to be a busy as my July was but again it's only the beginning. We have plenty of time to fill up the calendar. emoticon emoticon

Eating at close intervals can help by not letting blood sugars spike or drop to low. I eat every 3 hours, 6 times a day. I gave up coffee to show support for my wife. She had to stop drinking it due an allergic reaction to it. But while I was drinking it I would use a pint container of Silk and add Cinnamon and vanilla to it. Just shake and add to coffee. I was getting a little spoiled because I would use real vanilla bean. I am a fanatic I guess about weighing my food, but if I don't....... Well my eyes are not calibrated properly.

Well it's been a while since I've been on here.

I have realized that this is going to be a slow journey for me but I really don't care. I'm feeling really good with what I'm doing.

I went to the Ortho doc and had to go for an MRI but pretty sure I have a torn meniscus on my right knee. Doc said I can do what ever I want as long as I'm comfortable with it. So I'm back to walking and I'm wearing a brace. I've been able to do 10k and more the last 8 day. I ordered some new DVD workouts. I was so excited to start them because they are suppose to be good for the knees. I put the DVD in our DVR and they won't play their not compatible :(. We've been talking about getting a blue ray player so I went and bought one the other day and now I can't figure out how to hook it up. I probably have to buy some kind of special cable connector. These DVDs are costing more than what I planned on spending. LOL

This is the month of lots of parties. We already had a graduation party and a bridal shower and I have 2 more showers coming plus a birthday party. It's never a dull moment. I actually haven't done too bad at the ones I've gone to so far. I try to keep a glass of water in my hand at all times and avoid any of the snacking that they put on the table. I try to stay away from the breads.

It's a journey and it's a slow one but with the new attitude I can do it!!!!

I am on that same slow journey as you. We just have to keep at it.
Sorry you are having trouble with your knee, I can relate. Just be careful.
Too bad about those DVDs not playing. And learning how to operate a blue ray player would beyond my comprehension! Give me back my old VCR, I could work them.

Water is our friend and bread is not. Good luck with the celebrations this month.

I am back on WW for 3 months, gotta shake things up. My DD is doing it too.

Well I haven't blogged in a while.

I was doing so good with my walking striving for 10k or more steps daily and bingo I have another torn meniscus. We to the ortho today and have to have an MRI. Once I have the test done and he knows whats going on I might be able to have a cortisone shot but I'll have to wait to see. I have that set up on July the 10th and then to see the doc a week after. He said I can try doing what I feel comfortable with as long as I don't over do. It's just so frustrating when your in the right frame of mind and boom things like this happen, but that's life. So NEW ATTITUDE go with the flow do what I can and no pitty parties. LOL

I'm going to try to walk daily very SLOWLY. I have been doing upper body and some leg lifts working on my core. Anything to keep me moving and not going to be a couch potato!!!!

Yep Slow and Easy. Anything that puts strains on that knee I'm not doing. Some days walking is a breeze and other days it hurts way too much. Taking it slow.

I have the same injury. Be careful with the types of leg exercises you perform. Leg extensions are a no no but the leg lifts are okay. Reverse lunges instead of the standard forward lunge will more comfortable as well.

Oh no, not another set back. I admire your attitude though, keep on keeping on and do what you can. Good idea to work on upper body and core. Here is a video for some chair exercises on those days you need to take it easy:

I've been in a major slump this past month, a major stall as well. Need to get back on track. I need to access my plan and then actually do something.

Just listen to your body and please don't over do!

Well summer is here!!! Here we go with the very busy weekends all the parties are starting with all the wonderful food. I did plan ahead and I did try to limit my sweet intake which I think I didn't do too bad. So this week I'm going try to watch the carb intake and get lots lean protein which I know helps. Need to keep that scale moving down NOT UP.
