It's one of those days, don't stick your tongue on a pump handle. Thats an old farmer saying. Sure glad I don't have livestock anymore, it used to take all day to thaw out water for them. Was 10 below when I first got up. Sure nice for the game up in Green Bay. tried to do a lot of house projects this week. We both did buy new winter coats, my old one was just too big and showed wear from my once big belly. I have a hood on this one and sure comes in handy when out in this frigged whether. Time to get ready for church. Now the bad news, the devil made me gain 1 # this week. I'm going to kick him off my behind [ my DIL won't let me say butt] this next week. Skeeter

I am sorta burned out after trying to put my State of the Skeeter Address on three times, I would type it and then when I pushed Post the Entry it disappeared . Oh well thats life, just one more aggravation my parents didn't have to face. I t was a good week, temp. set a new high for Jan. and before this week is over might set a new low too. That's the joy of living in Ill. Have a good week. Wait a minute, I'm not done , don't tune me out yet, maintained at 180 for another week. I sure love this game called life. Have to get ready for church. Have a good week and keep on Sparking! Skeeter

This is my 3rd. attempt at posting this on my blog, I hope this one sticks.
Have burned over 156,000 calories.
Drank more than 4,000 cups of water.
Earned more than 23,800 Spark points, now if someone can tell me what to do with them?
Lost over 50 + lbs.
I started on Sparks Jan. 7,2007, and this has been quite an adventure. I kept changing my goal lower with each success. The longer I was on the easier it became. How you might ask, what is the secret? The plan was right in front of me, be totally committed to the SPARK PEOPLE agenda, totally, count calories, fitness, watch portion size, drink the water, post and keep a blog and weigh often. My father always said "no one promises you a rose garden, you have to work at it". I decided my health was very important to me, and I better start working at it. Of all the diets I have tried in the past 50 yrs. this, by far was the easiest.
I reached my last goal on June 9th. 2007. 187 or 50 lbs. lost. At that time I wrote in my blog , I knew the journey was not over but just beginning. MAINTAINING.
I'm fortunate to be a farmer because of all the work that needs to be done on a farm 9 months out of the year. Over the summer I didn't need any additional exercise and lost an additional 7 lbs. I had to force down some high calories so as not to go any lower. I expected to be challenged this late fall and I was. I had to get back on the old stationary bike. That worked until early Dec. the unthinkable happened, the complete breakdown of my old used stationary bike, I guess it got tired of this old fat blubber cranking away. No way to repair it, panic set in, what's the old duffer going to do, it's two weeks till Christmas? But thanks to my #2 son, who got tired of hearing me whine, gave me his 4 year old NordicTrack SL 710 exercise cycle. Is it ever slick, from here on I refer to it as my Lexus.
I gained a few lbs. over the holidays but have since got back down to my new weight, 180.
I must not close before taking inventory of just a few of good things in my life this past year. No longer take acid reflex pills, go up stairs without puffing, stoop over with EASE, bought new clothes, back, knee's, hip, legs no longer hurt, these are just a few. There are some more but don't want to embarrass anyone.
I would like to thank my family for their love and support this past year, special thanks to my sisterANNE403, who everyone thinks is younger than I but actually 7 years older, who for many years set such a good example for me and kept the pressure on.
Last but not least, the SPARK CROWD, what a great group of supporters! Most of all, thank you Chris, MR SPARK GUY.
May God be with us this coming year. JUSTLYLE Skeeter http://living a more healthy lifestyle

Wow, what happened to the snow overnight? I guess that's because of the very high 40's temp. It looks like a good day to take down outside lights. Won't blog too much because tomorrow is my 1st. anniversary on Sparks, stay tunned for my Sate of the Skeeter Address#1. Oh, I almost forgot, also more good news, I lost all that I had gained through the holidays this week, back down to 180, the lowest I want to go. Isn't Sparks the greatest? Ill see you in church? Us old farmers, when we have nothing else to complain about , discuss the weather. It is 10 above as I type this, what can I expect, it's winter in the mid-west. Getting ready to usher in the new year and forgetting to write 2008 on the checks. Will spend a quite evening with three of our close friends. Our most excitement is seeing if we can stay awake till midnight or celebrate 1 hour early with the east coast. It was a good year, feel reallllllllll good about it, sorta sad to see the good times go, but wait a second, they don't have to end, I'm going to stay positive and keep the good times rolling. And now about the bad news, I gained 4 lbs. this last two weeks. and I enjoyed every bite! It came on soo easy and it will come off! STAY POSITIVE! See you in church? Skeeter
