Another good and busy week, I always say , If you don't want to be busy just wait till you go to a nursing home and you will be all caught up. Maintained another week. I'm getting to like this program, like I didn't before. Had a big wedding last night, youngest Son and family stayed over night . More rain last 24 hr., at least 1". Corn and beans are made, that's a farmer term. Skeeter

The well

We have water. We pulled the pump up,80 ' and replaced the pump and added another 12' onto the pipe so to be another 12' into water. It probably was the pump but while we had it out thought it was safe to add pipe to go deeper. Glad to have that done. Thanks go's to our local plumber. Skeeter

Had just a wonderful week DIL and GD from NC spent a few days with us, canned peaches, pickles and started eating tomatoes. Ate the last sweet corn from the garden, still maintained my weight through it all. Have been without water since 12 noon yesterday. This is why we NEVER complain about our electric bill's. We never want to take modern conveyance for granted. We either need a new pump or a new well dug. Bad news either way. Have a good week. Skeeter

sure am sorry to hear about your well problems. Either one is going to be expensive. it seems like a farmer is always facing one expense after another. Right now, I have a cantankerous tractor giving me fits. And, I have 9 rabbits that look sickly to me...i separated them from the other 6 this afternoon. I have an algae problem on my pond that I never have had before and I don't farm with chemicals, so will research online on what I need to do to get rid of it...going out in a little 10 foot rowboat and skimming each day isn't working...good luck with your water problem...

The day started out quite enough, went checking my bean field for Aphids. Over a 2 day period they almost sucked the life out of most of our flowers. I had been spraying them but apparently not enough. I wanted to check them, the beans before it got hot. Beans were up to my belly button before wind took them down some. I had some escape weeds , grass and corn I decided to pull so it looked better from the road. As I walked, pulled and inspected I looked to see how far I had gone and to my surprise it was over a quarter of a mile from road, so decided I might as well keep going north only one-half mile to go. All this time my boots getting heavier from the mud and sun getting hotter. Their is nothing harder than high stepping through tangled beans. After 2 hrs. I finally made it the 3-4 quarter miles. When I got to the house, It was 90+ in the shade. Sure glad I did it while it was cool. That's a short story told long. All I know is I don't need to belong to a fitness club, I get way too much exercise down on the farm. Aren't I lucky. Skeeter

Another good week, still maintaining, actually lost another lbs. but the good news is I might , just might have this life style thing figured out. If so that would be great. As I type we are getting needed rain .Have been so blessed this growing season. Had 8.6" rain in July more than double what we usually get. Skeeter
