Just thought I couldn't let this day go by without putting down some thoughts. I give thanks for our many Fathers who taught us the lessons of life. Life isn't always going to be a bed of roses, things are never so bad that they can't get worse, be prepared for the worst so you can handle whatever comes at you. man up, admit you are wrong, learn from it, mistakes are just that, don't you dare make the same mistake again. Work everyday like it's a the most fun you ever had, do it today, tomorrow might be too late. Never take your freedoms for granted, my GGGF and many other people suffered for these rights, give thanks daily . Was reminded of this as a long caravan of Army units went by our church as we were getting out, they were following the Old Lincoln Highway route, what an impressive sight to see, one shouted, pray for us, I shall.
Happy Fathers Day to all, continue to be a good Dad!

What a great weekend, Our #3 S bought us tickets for the Cub game at Cincinnati on Sunday, left here Sat. morning and spent the night in Anderson Ind. where they live and left the next AM for the game. Got to spend the weekend with all their K's our GK's and #1 GK's wife of a year. It's important she gets to know me better to know what she's in for. Very nice clean ball park, noticed the ushers wipe seats down before seating fans. All workers at the park were very friendly even though we were all dressed in our Cubbie outfits, I guess they realize we help fill the park. Got my first "sticker shock" when I offered to buy hot dogs for every one for lunch. Two went over to the pizza tent so didn't get to buy for them. My GLBH and I split a hot dog, we're watching our weight you know, but still came to about $60.00 what a cost for friendship. From then on everyone but my GLBH were on their own. First thing she wanted was water, I thought very hot day better get her something to suck on, over $4.00 for 12 oz. , should have brought our own jug. Next thing she wanted was some ice cream, went back up for that treat, had many choices at the soft-serve dealie stand, kid was a rookie serving me I guess because every move he made the older women had to keep correcting him. more ice cream than that, fill the dish all the way up, more chocolate syrup, more sprinkles than that, I think you get the idea, bought one for each, over $12.00. Went back to my seat an announced I was going to have to find me a cheaper date next time. Good thing for credit cards, I wont carry that much cash. Very long game "14 innings" longest for the cubs all year, very hot until the 11th. inning when we were in the shade, GLBH kept me busy going for more water, she finally figured it out that I kept refilling the bottle from a fountain when she realized it was not cold. great seats, 16 rows up from midway between 1st. and 3rd. base, We were on camera every time a left handed batter was up. S# 4 spotted us, I do have one picture were you can pick me out. I was standing with my straw hat and Cubbie blue shirt for the last pitch, weren't many left in the stands but us Cub fans. I will put it in my photo section soon. Lots of sunscreen and the GLBH bought a kids Cub hat that really saved her brain, otherwise it would have been one sore head. Real easy to get out of the ball park especially when most of the Red fans had already left. Stayed again in Anderson and took family out for a real country breakfast before driving home. Over 500 miles there but couldn't get tickets in Chicago. Always so much fun being around family, they bring out the best in us, miss seeing them.

Had good luck yesterday and finished planting corn, for those of you not familiar with farming, It's all about timing. There's a time to plant and a time to harvest, and you better not miss it. Your income depends on it. We have been getting about one day a week to "getter done". Feel real fortunate, not everyone was so lucky.
Had my 4 implants put in, and no I'm not making my "hips" bigger last Thursday, started at 8:30 and got out of the chair at 11:15. Had bone implant and sinus lift too. Pretty tedgious surgery for the Dr. and two attendances. I asked the Dr. if he could work and talk at the same time, since I couldn't I wanted him to explaine what he was doing. Things were going good until about half way through when he shouted to me don't swallow and with force slamend the light ahead and said sit up and cough. Of course my tounge was frozen so couldn't feel anything but when I coughed out came the 3-16" bit 2 inches long used in drilling for the implants. Sure glad I didn't swallow it. So my advice for the day, is make sure the chuck is tight. Still sore but will be getting the stiches out Tues. Would I do it again, sure, It's only a little Dentist thing.
Sure everyone enjoys the rain, sure glad the lawn mower is aworkin.
Have a great day.
