How to make a drive-thru food chain nutts!!!!

Friday, February 28, 2014

My hubs and I had to run errands today and we went to Sam's Club for a few things. We then went to Arby's for lunch. My hubs favorite place to eat, but we only go if on that side of town most the time. Anyway I ordered his food and told them I wanted 2 Beef n Cheddar WITHOUT the bun. It was rather amusing to watch them figure out HOW to manage that. Asked me several times if I wanted a double meat and what did I mean. MEAT...NO BUN!!! Oh!!! You mean JUST the meat and the cheese and sauce on the side. It really was comical. Not sure why that was so hard. Anyway...0 carbs for my lunch!!!! YES!!!! Today has been a good day and I ate quite a lot. Yet kept the carbs way down. LOVE low-carb!!! Had a lot of protein, which sometimes I don't load up on. I also sometimes do the same at Chic fil A. Get just the patty. They are much more accommodating. Y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Just try watching them give change if they enter the wrong dollar amount....They can't count either, unless the cash register does it for them... Lol

I totally understand what you are saying. I always have to say no bun as I have to eat gluten free (Celiac disease) But usually try to order things that don't normally have a bun because they can cross contaminate and in my case that is a "bad thing."
We actually don't eat out much and not at fast food restaurants.
Glad you were able to make them understand. WOOHOO!!! Keep up your great work!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

    LOL Good for you!
So far as the Chick-Fil-A ... have you tried their nuggets? they're awesome... and they're *real meat*. It's one of the few fast-food places we'll go. I'm so disgusted they gave up their carrot-and-raisin salad! Those two things were my stand-bys! The bums.

It's because kids these days have zero common sense! What, meat with no bun? Duhhhh, how do I do that? I got into an argument with the manager of a Taco Bell here years ago (when we had a TB), I got things in my order that I hadn't ordered- he informed that they were correct because he'd made them himself (he was all of 21 or 22). I siad that may indeed be the case but you made the WRONG items, I didn't order _ (don't recall what is was), I ordered _. He made what I wanted, I gave him back what I didn't and he threw the new order across the counter at me. Naturally I call the district person and ate FREE TB for a month. I like Arby's, we have no such things here, I wish we had one. When friends go out of town we often ask for Beef & Cheddars (and SAUCE) to be brought back. emoticon

I know what you mean, I usually throw the buns away myself!
Once I ordered it that way and the manager gave me a discount!
You know I had to ring the bell on my way out!

My husband eats low carb, so I know what this is like. He's got one particular McDonald's he likes, because they are used to to his JUST sausage and eggs breakfast order.

Beginning to see the forrest among the trees!!!!

Monday, February 24, 2014

On my way to work this afternoon, I realized I was really feeling better than I have in MONTHS!!!!! I also got so much done at home before I left. I am really tired now and may go to bed soon, but was just so stoked to feel "alive" again. When I walked into our work room there was cake and cookies thee. I WALKED right by them to my desk and didn't even think twice about having any. WOO WOO!!!! I have been soda free for almost 6 weeks, off all the white stuff- sugar, flour, pasta, bread, potatoes), unless it is dreamfields pasta or truvia sweetener. My body is finally rid of all the toxins and I can really feel the difference. I am down almost 10 lbs. Just had to share that with those who know the battle can appreciate good news. Like winning the lottery to me!!!!

Saying NO!!!!!

Thursday, January 30, 2014

Man, today has been a day. We had Birthday junk on the table at work today left from uesterday. I hang my head saying this...but a few weeks ago, I would have been right in the middle of it. Today I walked right by it and straight to my desk. Was NOT even tempted. I also was asked by a customer if I wanted some fudge. RESISTED that, too. I have gone 4 days with out a Coke and have been back for about a week. I know there will be days when my resistance is not so strong. Today...I am thanking God for giving me the discipline I need today. Y'all have a great weekend.

Good Lawdy Miss Claudy!!!!!

Sunday, January 26, 2014

It has been 2 years and 4 days since I have posted a blog. It has been nearly that since I have been on SparksPeople at all. (ducking my head)!!!). I need to realize I keep making excuses for my lack of discipline. My health is worse than before although have not really gained any more weight. I looked back on those promises I made to my self and others and ....man...did I fall short. I am, however NOT beating my self up about that. That is what satan would want me to do. But My Lord Jesus says I am worth the fight. So I am starting over. Redid a LOT of my Spark stuff. Man has it changed. I am going to sit down and re-write my story for Sparks Page soon. And my pic is way outdated. LOL I am going to live up to my SP name...JustJudeAttude!!!!! I can not wait till it gets warmer so I can go walking. I am trying to get more sleep. I am a night owl and that habit is hard to break. appreciate any tips that does not require meds. LOL I challenge you all to challenge me and t hold my feet to the fire this time. Gota get it done or I may find my self in a bigger pt than what I am now.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for always having my back!!!!!
In His Grip, Judy

I know what ya mean about the self - discipline, I have really been working on that one myself. It just feels so good and motivating to make those goals, then something happens and I give up!!!!! Why? UN DISCIPLINED!! LOL. :)

I have discussed this with both my daughters and we have laughed about how excited we get with a new project or goal then it flitters out.
But not this time!!! this time the goal is to FINISH WHAT I START!

I am praying and asking the lord to help me along this journey, as I have faith he will. He only wants good for us. God has all the strength we need. God bless you.

    Welcome back!

Getting enough sleep is on my 2014 hot sheet. It always gets pushed to the back burner, but it's actually holding me back now. Here are a couple of things I found that have helped, one motivational and one physiological:

do_we_sleep.html

http://
justgetflux.com

F.lux is totally safe for any computer and easy to turn off if you like. It's a subtle difference, but I noticed that I got drowsier earlier when it came on at sundown. (I'm a total nightowl too!)

Welcome back! You took the first step by returning! With God beside you for strength and guidance, and Spark People as support, YOU CAN DO IT!

As for sleep, I go for some Sleepy Time tea by Celestial Seasoning. I also have some lavender oil that I use to calm me down before bed. Many people in my family use valerian root for falling asleep as well. We are all about natural remedies!

Best of luck on your journey!

Working through the pain...

Sunday, January 22, 2012

So I have several things that cause physical pain. Fubro/chronic fatigue Rheumatoid Arthritis, Neurofibromatosis, recent foot surgery, and now a broken toe on other foot. Fell flat on my knees, elbows, shoulder on right and foot on left.. Also my noggin. Not sure how I hit all those places, but I did. Today I feel like I went 1 on 1 with Ali. BUT...the thing I have learned is ya gotta push through the pain to gain. I have had a really busy day at work today and got so much done just sitting st my desk. Surprised me at what my desk REALLY looks like. Cleaned under it as well. LOL THAT is a big weight off my shoulders. We are preparing for changes and a move in a few years at work, and I do not want all this to follow me. THIS is MY year to get organized at work AND at home. Anyone with chronic illnesses knows there are days that you just cannot move. But when you can...do. I am determined to get my life andhealth back this year. I encourage all of you to do the same. Clean out the junk outside your life and body as well as in. Have a wonderful weekend. In His Grip, Jude
