"ONE"derland

Sunday, May 12, 2013

After such a long time I am in onederland. I have tried hard even after gastric bypass surgery I didn't believe it was going to happen. I have done exactly what the doctor told me to and have made great progress. I am only eating what I'm supposed and drinking enough water to sink a battleship. The only thing that isn't working is the exercise. I have trouble getting up the gumption to go work out. I have made a pact with myself to do my WII Fit everyday this week no matter what. I CAN DO IT>>>>>>

Even if you have to do the Wii fit five minutes at a time, just do it.
Starting is usually the hardest part. Congrats on Onederland.

Surgery - Check

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Well I had my surgery three weeks ago and I feel great. I just have to get moving. I have no desire to work out. I am so tired of the same thing every night. I try and switch it up but it all tastes the same. I did have meatloaf tonight and it was AWESOME. Loved it. I don't know if I would do it again if I could have this willpower to stick to the list of food that I can eat but the thought of getting really sick is a motivator to not any that isn't on the list.

My surgery was about 3 weeks ago, too. I'm not so much tired, matter of fact, I keep over doing things! My only problem is the left side of the abdomen where they did all the work! I keep getting sharp, shooting, pains there, that stick around for hours as a stinging ache. Especially when I move wrong. Now THAT tires me out!
As for eating? I'm loving each new food I add! I found out this week I can handle tiny chunks of white meat chicken. Well, so long as it's not dried out. My daughter cooked me some, and it was a tiny bit dry, so I soaked it in chicken broth, and then I could eat it.

Enjoy! Things are going to get better, for both of us! Take the chance to rest as much as you can, because when your energy levels catch up to you, there will be no stopping!

This is the time to be extra kind to yourself!

My lesson-learned is to do a bit less than I felt like doing. Whenever I got that burst of energy and went with it, I paid dearly for the next few days- exhausted, wrung out and had to build back up again

Though I do not know about the diet you have to follow after surgery, I do know you need a bit of time to recuperate, and then you will feel like moving. I do not have faith in doctors to do surgery on me, but glad you are feeling good! Since you are eating less I'm sure you are losing weight even before you get to your exercise plan or walking.

Honestly, you aren't going to feel like working out for a while. Your body has just been thought a major thing! You are going to be tired a lot quicker for a few more weeks. Don't worry though, in a while, you will be back to "normal"

Just One Week

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Just one week until I have my Gastric By Pass surgery. I have worked hard and done everything that I could do to get this weight off and have failed so I am going to do this. Some people don't think it's a good idea but if you have tried for 10 years to lose weight and just keep getting bigger then you could tell me I'm wrong. I have tried Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, TOPS etc. The programs don't fail I fail the programs. It's not the easy way out but it's my way out of constantly trying to lose weight and gaining back everything plus some.

I understand how impossible it can be to lose weight and keep losing. The GBPSparkers is a great team. Here to support you.

I know what you're feeling! My surgery is 8 days, and 23 hours from now. I, too, have done just about everything over the last 40 years. TOPS is the one thing that has been able to keep me going, though, it did depend on the group. We've moved over 40 times in that 40 years (hubby in the USN) so I've been in several groups. I bless the day that TOPS finally realized that WLS was acceptable to them, as I will be using my new group to give me support during my new lifestyle. There are 3 or 4 in my group that have gone through the surgery, and they have been wonderful at helping me keep to the new habits that I am learning.
I hope everything goes well with you! I look forward to sharing the adventure with you!

Here's the Thing

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Everyone sit down. You are not going to believe this. I have worked at losing weight since August of last year and since December 19th I have lost 14.6 pounds. WOO HOO I am so excited. I have tracked, drank and moved all the time. the biggest thing is I have cut way back on bread and have almost no fried foods. I haven't been to McDonald's in over three months. I hear the double cheeseburgers and french fries calling my name but they just get my voice mail. I feel so much better. I sit and watch TV but during every commercial I'm up doing something.

I CAN DO THIS........... emoticon

I am not going to stop I have resolve now and I know that I can do it.
Today I am going to start walking with my friend and going to our little gym.
YES I CAN

  Good for you!

Our doctor wants my husband to get up during the commercials and walk in place, since he sits all winter, but we haven't convinced him to do this yet. So glad you are motivated. Little bit of exercise adds up in a month.

You go girl!

Trying Once Again

Sunday, November 11, 2012

Well once again I'm starting over again. I read all the time about people losing large amounts of weight and I get discouraged. I can't seem to get everything together to lose any weight.
