Flashback to 5 years (or so) ago: I am walking into the weight room of my gym when I notice that a fellow yoga class attendee has lost a significant amount of weight. I tell her “you look amazing, you’ve lost so much weight!” She replied “you were the one that inspired me to do it.” I thanked her and continued to walk, but I was stunned. I thought “who am I to inspire someone?”
Flashback to this morning: I am remembering the incident, pondering the same question. So what did I look like 5 years ago? 20lbs lighter, a size 0-2, and muscular (I often got comments that I looked like a Fear Factor competitor). What about today? Well, I have the same amount of muscle with 20lbs packed on top! What happened to change my body composition? I married a man with the metabolism of a rabbit about 3 years ago, and I changed my eating habits with this new relationship (we were engaged exactly 11days). I have put on an average of 8lbs per year, amounting to over 20lbs!
Hence, operation “Rock those White Jeans!” I will expedite this operation using the SMART Goals model. Here are the details:
My goal is to lose 20lbs.
I will reach this goal by:
1) Tracking every bite, lick, and taste I take. I will stay between 1200-1500 cal/day.
2) I will do at least 30min of cardio 4x per week, 3 of those being runs.
3) I will continue to lift weights for at least 60 min, 4x per week.
I will measure my goal by weighing myself every Wednesday. I will know when I have reached my goal because the scale will read 117 in large, glowing numbers!
This goal is very attainable, as 1.2lbs per week is a realistic amount of weight to lose. I will find the time to do whatever it takes to make this happen because it is a huge priority! I do not feel like I need to learn any additional information because I have a BS in Nutrition, and I used to be a personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder. I will rely on my fellow CAMO Crew for support because they rock!
I want to reach this goal badly because I am tired of hiding my body in “slimming” clothes, which I have never had to do before. Also, I have a closet full of beautiful clothes in sizes 0-2 that I would love to wear again, including the aforementioned pair of white jeans!
I will reach this goal weight of 117lbs by August 28, 2013. At the halfway mark, July 17, 2013, I will weigh 127lbs. When I am done I will post a picture of myself wearing the white jeans, which is more for me than anyone else (of course)!
