New month

Thursday, June 12, 2014

So May went pretty well I walked more than I have all year I tracked my food some days so it is better than it has been. I'm planning on making it everyday from here on out.

I decied that my 100 day challenge was not working so I will start over. I haven't kept it up so I will keep it up this month. So my new 100 day challenge will be tracking everything I eat and working out everyday.

I hope to be on here more often. Hope everyone is doing well.

You can do it! I try to track as I go (the app helps!) so I have a better idea of my calories. :)

I have had that happen too! Sometimes a challenge that seems like a great idea doesn't end up helping you that much. It's okay, and you're doing the right thing - just pick a new one and keep moving on!

Tracking my calories and meauring all my food is the number one thing that has helped me lose weight. Activity is great, but I have housekeepers at work that are moving and working themselves into a sweat their whole 8 hour shift, but they are obese. Why is that, especially when some are in their 20s? Because they overeat on a daily basis, they don't eat huge portions, but they don't track what they eat, and some of their choices are high calorie, high fat, high carb/sugar and high salt.

I had a patient who got to her goal weight and she is in a wheelchair, so she has very limmited activity. she did it just by eating within her calorie range, about 1400-1500 calories a day. She lost about 60 lbs in 10 months, and she wasn't young, tall or even in the best of health. She also had a very very tight budget, she couldn't buy organic foods or "diet foods" she bought things like Chicken breasts, yogurt, eggs, lots of veggies and some fruit. Turket breast deli meat...

I know you can do it. Give yourself a 21 day challenge to eat within your calorie range, I promise a 21 day streak really is motivating, and the results are fantastic!

Middle of the month update

Friday, May 16, 2014

This month has been the best out of the entire year so far so I will keep going. I have my motivation back and I'm just doing at least a half hour a day and not getting overwhelmed if I am not perfect. I think that was my problem last year I was walking six miles aday and if I could walk that much than I felt like I failed.

But I finally learned that as long as I am trying than I'm doing good. I'm still struggling with eating but I'm getting back on track.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey, I have just restarted and I know the hurdles of weight loss!

Here are a couple things that help me:

1. I keep a papaer log to write down everything I eat and its calories. I ALWAYS look up the calories BEFORE I order/eat it.
writing things down really keeps me accountable.

2. I plan one day ahead what I will eat the next day, and pack a couple extra healthy snacks in case I get hungry.

3. I eat 5 times a day, breakfast, a snack 2-3 hours later, lunch, snack 2-3 hours later and then dinner. Lunch is usually my biggest/highest calorie meal.

4. Making sure I drink that water and make sure I eat veggies with each meal, it fills me up.

I hope those tips help you.

How April went and the new challenge

Thursday, May 01, 2014

Well my challenge is going okay i have increased walking and doing zumba more than i have for the past four months i have put on twenty pounds i eat healthy during the day and than my night voice comes and says don't worry it won't hurt to eat alittle more. This can not happen anymore so i am making that one of my things i'm going to track no eating at night and no soda past dinner i have cut down really good. so if i get thirsty later at night i will drink more water than i have been.

So i just want to apologize for not being here i don't know why. I miss everyone when i'm not around so i need to be around more so that is my goal for may to be around this month more than once a month.

Hope everyone is doing well.

So my goals for may are

1. Continue my 100 day challenge

2. no more late night snacks.

3. thirsty at night drink more water

4. be here sparking more often than once a month.

I have the same issue with my inner voice and I think fatigue causes the voice to be worse as well as trying to do to much before bed. If I go to bed I am okay to avoid some of the over eating.

Jules I am sorry you have regained the weight and I am with you on that as well but mine was not as much but I am determined to shed it just like you.

Glad the Zumba is going well. I am rooting for ya! emoticon Miss Boston Strong Jules!

New challange.

Thursday, April 03, 2014

So SP inspired me with their ten day challenge this month of rise and shine and I'm starting a 100 day tomorrow so I will either get up and eat breakfast or go for my walk first and than eat breakfast. I hope this will help me find my motivation.

I hope with this challenge I will be back on here more often. I'm so tried of being my own worse enemy I'm tired of her winning. So I'm going to kick her butt with my 100 day challenge.

Hope everyone is doing well. Miss everyone appreciate everyone for being their for me.

Girl, I was my worst enemy after I got out of the wheel chair. I was not really making excuses, just flat out refusing to work out. You know what is motivating me (besides my husband driving me to the gym, even if I don't want to go, sometimes)? Variety. I mean I read articles on having to do this, but now I'm actually varying my workouts and eating. After the health hiatus, I gained back max eight pounds or so from the 40 I lost, and I'm not even concerned about losing them, just keeping up my fitness minutes and trying to eat healthier. My motivation is much higher now, and I stop giving myself material rewards. Anyway, I hope this helps. Race walk or vary your walks, so you trick your body.

Hi

Monday, March 10, 2014

Hi everyone how is everyone doing me I have figured out a lot of stuff about me. I fell back into old habits I am my own worst enemy. So it is a work in progress. I have put one more pound on since I blogged last which isn't so bad but still no were I want to be.

So it is time for my reality check I'm not doing what I should be for me I forget again that if I'm not focusing on me and what I need to do for myself I fall by the waist side. So I'm trying my best to get back to taking care of myself.

So why does this happen not sure but I have done it my entire life I smile and pretend everything is okay because I don't know how to speak up but I'm finding my voice.

Sorry this a really boring blog but I'm back and I'm ready to do this.

So these are my goals for March:

1. Walk for an hour a day.

2. Track everyday.

3. Keep life simple.

Enjoy your day, one that's filled with good choices!!

SAM60SUMTHINK 3/11/2014 12:33AM

Julie, consider scaling down your daily goals, so they are totally doable.

Like... Walk minimum of 10 (15?) minutes a day 5 days a week.
(can be done indoors even on bad days)
(This would allow for 'off' days. And you could still

Your third goal is the key to success for you:
YES!! KEEP IT SIMPLE!!
You know how easy it is to set a plan and dig into it gung-ho and
........then slip, so.. yup: keep it simple.

One small change that becomes habit leads to others.
Slow progress is better than none or even a rollercoaster that's out of control.

ENJOY THIS JOURNEY OF YOURS, JULIE!!
