50th Class Reunion

Saturday, September 25, 2010

Never gave my high school reunion a thought when I joined Spark but went to my 50th class reunion tonight. Had a great time. Really felt good about myself being almost 45 pounds lighter than I was a year ago.

Just noticed this blog on your SparkPage! I have a reunion coming up this year - and I DID think about it when I joined SparkPeople! And yes, I'm back in my high school size. A miracle I never believed could happen - but with all the supportive friends, and the help of Jesus every day, I will be happy to attend it. (When I get around to planning it - I guess I'll be Chair again, like I was at the only other one my class has ever had) emoticon

You sure did a great job of getting in shape for yours! Woo Hoo! (a LITTLE delayed. But WooHoo anyway!)

Walking again

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Walked 7.2 miles with my Spark friend Venise, her friend Kim and two little boys in strollers. We all had a good time. Looking forward to walking again tomorrow but not for 7.2 miles. That was a little too long for me.

Excellent. 7.2 miles is a long walk!!!

Once the weather gets nice here I'll get back to outdoor walks. I usually only go 2-4 miles outdoors but now maybe I can get further.

Since I've lost weight my knees don't hurt and I can exercise longer.

You sound like you had a marvelous time outdoors walking!!!!

emoticonabout your back and next time we definitely will not be going that far and taking it much easier. Glad to hear you enjoyed it at the time, so did I. I was really impressed on how patient the little boys were in the stroller. I think they enjoyed checking out the new sights too!

Remember that a good walk should be a minimal of 10,000 steps which is approximately 4 miles. May God Bless Everyone, Vic, Team Leader of SP "God's Family".

The Meaning of the Christmas Tree

Monday, December 21, 2009

I received this verse on a Christmas card and liked it so much that I thought I would share it with you:

The Meaning of the Christmas Tree

Each part of the Christmas tree celebrates Christís birth

And tells the story of how God sent His Son to earth.

The wood reminds us of the manger where He lay

And of the rugged cross where He gave His life one day.

The evergreen shows the eternal life Christ gives-

anyone who believes in Him forever lives!

The decorations represent blessings from above

And inspire us to thank the Lord for His tender love.

The shining lights show us how we're to do the same.

as we share His grace and seek to glorify His name.

So may each beautiful tree bring honor to our King

and may we celebrate Christís love in everything!

Holley Gerth
