Possible Bursitis

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

I went to the doctor yesterday as I was having sharp, burning pain in my right hip. My doctor says it may be bursitis and would like an xray to check. Hopefully, I can schedule an evening time when my husband is home with the car. Not sure, how this could happen. I am not aware of hurting my hip. I haven't been jogging on the treadmill since my daughter's surgery. I have just been gradually adding exercise back into my routine.

You are in my thoughts, as you know I have been having shoulder pain for over a month. I was getting very frustrated, but today I am finally hopeful that I have turned a corner, and am on the mend!!! I too felt like I did not do anything to injure it. I kept telling everyone, that I did not even have a good story to tell!! Just woke up one morning in pain. I don't like this getting older stuff. Listen to your Dr., and rest it, and you will be up and going soon!! emoticon

Ouch! When I was thinner and jogged daily, I ended up with hip bursitis. Very painful. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

My Daughter & Her Surgery

Friday, September 14, 2012

I am writing this blog from my daughter's hospital room. Imagine, wireless internet in a hospital.

My daughter's surgery went very well. After the overdose this spring, this is such a relief. I had worried about her being in pain, but with the pump she is able to control it. I am surprised at how little she uses the extra bump.

She stood up for the first time this morning, and I am so looking forward to her being able to eat solid food. So, much like when your child takes their first steps.

My health

Sunday, September 09, 2012

It has been such a long time since my last blog. So, much has happened since I last wrote, that I will just talk about me today. I received my test results back and they were all wonderful. My doctor was very happy and said, "I would be happy to give these test results to any of my patients". I was quite surprised. I had expected some improvement but not glowing test results. She also wrote out a new prescription for my BP med where I will take essentially half a pill twice a day instead of once. This has helped tremendously so I don't feel dizzy so often.

August was such a difficult month for me. My hay fever has been terrible. I have felt so exhausted all the time that it has been a struggle just to log in and chart what I have been eating. Exercise has mostly consisted of walking.

My birthday was August 24th and my Dad died August 25th. I spent the last two days of his life nursing him and giving him his meds. I am glad I could be there for him and glad everyone had a chance to say goodbye. He took his last breath in my Mom's arms as she gave him a hug. I don't have words right now to express how I feel. But will need to write more later. There is I think more that I need to share.

Missing two days of sleep, however has done a real number on my BP. I can even feel my heart racing. At times it goes up to 120. Exercise and rest have been the two things that have been helping the most. I have begun my jogs on the treadmill and this really helps with the racing heart.

This Thursday the 13th of September is my daughter's surgery and my parents wedding anniversary. So, right now I will continue this journey as I began it, just one step ahead each day. It feels too overwhelming to do more.

    Julie...Hugs.
Your test results are the payoff for all the hard work you have done on yourself this year. Congrats on those great numbers.

I am glad you were with your dad when the end came. A peaceful way for him to go, in the loving arms of your mom. You were so lucky to have him so long, this spoken from a person that lost her dad when she was 8. For me, my dad seems like a big question mark, so little remembered of him, a person unknown.
But you had the joy of knowing your dad! And that will live forever in your heart of hearts. I am just sorry you have to endure the pain of his dying.

Your daughter's upcoming surgery. It has taken a while for the rescheduling hasn't it? Is she anxious about it? I pray that all goes smoothly and she will be back home and recovering in lickety split time! I will say prayers to guide the docs hands, and for healing and quick recovery for her. Keep your heart peaceful Julie

I am also sorry that your birthday probably was not a very happy one, if you thought of it at all. Happy belated birthday hon, maybe have a special day for you in the near future, in polace of your birthday

Any time you need to talk.....just send out a note. I am here for you as are other ladies in the group. We all care a lot about you and will be there for you as much as we can, from the internet world. Many hugs my friend

Cholesterol Panel

Monday, August 06, 2012

Tomorrow I go to the doctor's office to have a cholesterol panel & my glucose checked. I feel like I am getting ready for a final exam. I have given 100% to becoming healthier and stronger. If the test doesn't come back the way I'm hoping, then I will just have to accept help getting to my goal.

Mother-Son Day

Sunday, July 22, 2012

We had such a fun day today. Quinn and I went on a boat ride on the Mississippi today. We both love boats and water. On the way up we saw two eagles in trees. On the way back I saw a Great Blue Heron. We also went canoeing, while he fished. I think the fishing was his favorite part. So much fun, so much sun, soooo tired. Such a lovely day.

And of course, a picture of Quinn fishing.
