no chocolate today!

Friday, June 12, 2009

I am being so good this week! No chocolate today!
I have started eating 1 ounce of almonds a day - according to recent research it is supposed to help with wight loss - I will try anything!!

At last my ticker is going in the right direction I have gone from 167 lbs to 165.6 so very proud of myself!

I feel more motivated this week - probably because the sun has been out more often!

I am off to my spa tomorrow so won't be back till sunday night or monday.

Hope everyone has a productive weekend!

I was thinking about buying some almonds because i knew they were good for you for other reasons, so now I have another reason, woohoo!
Well done you on the chocolate. It's not a big deal for me, my weakness is bread and crisps and cheese! Yes, cheese! heeheee

this is supposed to be on the natter thread uk midlands!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Hi there - only me again - I tried to post this on uk midlands but it wouldn't let me so I have put it here instead!

Hello folks - its good to see more people joining in on the natter thread - it has taken me ages to catch up on what people have been doing!
It sounds like gardening/veg growing is very popular! As it has rained a lot quite recently our veggies are coming on in leaps and bounds! The lettuces are growing by the day and we picked our first 3 ripe strawberries - it gives you a real sense of achievement being able to eat home grown food!
I am quite busy at work at the moment so not able to do all the bits on spark people>
I am looking forward to a spa weekend - going up to a place in Preston on saturday afternoon thru to sunday afternoon with my sister and group of friends - looking forward to a bit of pampering - I will stop rambling now!
Keep up the good work - it is amazing how much water you can drink - I am thinking about the lemon in hot water - it is supposed to be very good for you.
The challenge of walking so far sounds good as well!
Bye for now

Hi Julia, Can't beat some pampering, you'll have a wonderful time, I've got friends in Preston - Blackpools pretty good for fabulous price bargains on clothes and shoes!!

Well done on your strawberries - it seems such a shame to eat the product when you've waited for so long to see the results - eating the evidence!!!

I'm rather chuffed on my water today too, 7 glasses and its only 9.30pm.

We had thunder as well as the rain here in Shropshire!

Do find a walk challenge Julia, they sound like such fun!

New week - new beginning?

Sunday, June 07, 2009

Ok - I am a bit 'hormonal' at the moment so everything seems worse than it really is!

I went to pizza hut and out for a chinese meal yesterday for lunch and dinner - I had a chicken and mushroom risotto at pizza hut which is hopefully less calories than a pizza! We had the banquet menu at the chinese - there were eight of us colleagues from work - it was very tasty!

Today is a new day - I have used my nutritional tracker and managed to eat the right amount of calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates... which is good.

I have also had my eight glasses of water.
Did the ironing this afternoon which means lots of running up and down the stairs with everyones freshly pressed clothes!

I have also been decluttering 'my side' of the bedroom floor - it gets full of books, paper, clothes - all sorts really quickly - I think I am going to aim to check it out and 'chuck' out stuff I don't need for 5-10 minutes each day - I feel so much better when the pile is reduced to a minimum!!

It has been pouring down with rain all weekend here - the lettuces in my veg plot have suddenly got a lot bigger and two of my strawberries have turned red!!!

Well I am going to have a sit down and read for a bit.

Bye for now.

Julia

    Hi Julia,

Thank for comments on my blog - let me know if you need any recipes!

Sounds like you have a very postive attitude - it can be too easy just to give after having a 'bad' day or so..

One thing I have learnt is that there is no such thing as a 'bad' day just a day when my food choices weren't the right ones to get me to my goal - as you said - tomorrow is another day... emoticon

You've done great with your water.
Ironing, cals burned and very commendable.
Your strawberries sound too good to leave all alone out there!
De-cluttering is definitely a refreshing feel good factor and

Reading........ Bliss.

A day well spent!

disappointed again!

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Weigh in at work today - I have put on again so up to 167 lbs - there is no point in putting my weight on the ticker as it just keeps increasing.
I have not been too bad with the food - stuck to the spark plan yesterday and continue to do more exercise.

It makes me want to reach for a nice big bar of chocolate! I will be good and won't though!

Busy day at work again.

Not much else to say so will speak again.

Hang in there! I feel the same way sometimes. I feel like all my hard work is for naught when the scale goes up instead of down. It will happen!!

You had a blog entry called another inch off my waist.. Keep using your tape measure and make a record of your measurements .. Also put your nutrition page up quietly and ask several people to look over your eating, I once told my weight consultant I was eating okay.. He demanded to see my nutrition sheets, well these came back with more red and green circles than a christmas tree.. We are actually blind to our own mistakes, mindsets and sometimes many small mistakes add together as one big mistake..
Just keep grinding at it and leave the chocolate in the shop.. This will not help you feel better believe me we get another downer efterwards just eating this on top of everything else that went wrong. Hugs Rena

Keep going Julia! It will all be ok in the end - keep it consistent..

Fingers crossed for next time - I had two really bad times between January and March when I felt like giving up - in fact I even cried with frustration one weigh day - but it all came right in the end - remember why you are doing this... emoticon

great weekend!

Sunday, May 31, 2009

We have had a nice chilled weekend. The kids went to stay with nanny and grandad on Friday evening so we had a whole nights peaceful sleep with a lie in on saturday morning. Then off we went to stanstead airport hilton hotel to get ready for my cousins evening do. Met my sister there and went for a quick swim in the pool and relax in the jacuzzi.
Had a salmon panini to eat about 5pm then got ready to go.
My beautiful green dress still fits!! We had a great time at Bury lodge - there was a 13 piece swing band playing - did loads of other types of songs as well.
It was a free bar - I was very good having 3 glasses of wine and 3 glasses of lemonade. Then the food arrived - it was naughty stuff like prawns inbreadcrumbs, crab in breadcrumbs, vegetable spring rolls and potato wedges. There were sandwiches a s well. That was all very nice but the piece de resistance was a giant chocolate fountain - well you know how I am addicted to the chocolate - I was in my element! I did take a picture to show you but it was too dark! I was very restrained and just had a strawberry, a mini doughnut and marshmallow dipped in the chocolate - it was heaven!

I have just tried to upload a pic of my hubby and me but not sure if it will come up!

Bye for now
