Day 1

Monday, August 22, 2011

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I'm making a serious attempt to begin a more healthy lifestyle. My first task... find something healthy for lunch. With Subway next door, I'm thinking a healthy salad. If it works for Jared, it can work for me!

How Do Others Perceive Me Because of My Weight?

Sunday, August 21, 2011

I'm tired of my job. It's so frustrating because I need to get out but I can't find anything else. I also can't fit into my interview suit. I wonder if prospective employers would see me or just my weight?

A lot of times people judge us based on our weight. You cannot allow people to define who you are but you have to know that no matter how much you weigh that you were fearfully and wonderfully made by God and he doesn't make junk.

If it's something about you or in your life that you don't like, change it. No, jobs is not easy to come by but start or continue to apply for new ones and start surrounding yourself around positive people because believe it or not that helps a lot.

Confidence is also great to have because I find that having confidence in oneself is very attractive to prospective employers and other people in general. People are drawn to positive and confident people.

Remember, you are never alone and the Sparkies are here to support and encourage you on this journey called life.

Tired of Waiting for My Life to Begin

Sunday, August 21, 2011

For so long now, I've been focused on goals for work, for income, for deliverables. Why is it that I've never put myself or my health on that list? Dating has been hard because I can't find what I'm looking for and a lot of men don't want to wait until I have time. Working late and on weekends hasn't done anything for that effort.

I've got to be my own best friend, motivator and butt kicker. I spent this weekend lounging in bed. There are other things I could've done but I got comfortable on the bed. Hanging clothes, folding clothes, reading the mail... the bed is my comfort zone for all those things. I've got to change that. If I got away from it and out of the house, I'm sure I could change many things in my life. I've got to make these changes now because my health is at risk. UGH!

emoticon, start with 1 small change, make the choice to change and your brain will start to get the idea that you want things different. Make enough small chnages and voila they add up to big change. Kinda like drops of rain are small but when enough of them fall they can create raging rivers, your small changes will work out to big rewards.
