I ate, I sat, I put the weight back on.

Well that pretty much sums up that last year of my life. It is very frustrating and sad that I gained all my weight back plus some. I had hoped to never be in this place again. The good news is that I have all the tools to lose it again and keep it off for good this time. I have a gym membership at a gym that is very close to my house, Nutrition tracking from sparkpeople, accountability from my sparkfriends and text support from the lovely Michelene Cleary.

I am really tired of being fat and tired, plus I want to prevent cancer and diabetes. I have 3 beautiful sons that need their mother and a husband who deserves a healthy wife.

Here is my plan for now.

Cut out the fast food - so long chicken mcnuggets with ranch.

Cut out the Pop - or soda for all you non-northeastern Ohio people

Up the water to at least 8 cups a day. ( hello many trips to the restroom)

Track all my calories and stay within range.

Take a vitamin everyday.

Workout at least 4 day every week (weight circuit at least 2 )

That is it for now. I started this on May 12th which gives me a year and a month until my 40th Birthday to lose 100lbs. So far I lost 4lbs. at my first weekly weigh in.

First week on my journey back.

Soooooooooo today I begin my second week on my journey back to healthy. I wanted to start off the week by reviewing last week and looking at things I did well and what I could have done better.

The one thing I feel like I did not do my best at this week is weights. I wanted to do a weight circuit M W F . I only did it Monday. So to correct this this week I plan on doing it Tuesday and Thursday. Since I don't have to rush off to work on those two days, I won't feel as rushed.

I was starting to think that this week was not the best week to begin my journey, I suffer from PMDD ( PMS on steroids) and the week before my TOM I am chronically exhausted and binge eat like crazy. I struggled a little with cravings this week but found that since I was eating small meals every couple hours they weren't as bad. I was tired this week and usually drug my butt to the gym with a considerable lack of enthusiasm. But I did it all 5 days. I did not let my feelings dictate my actions. I did make sure to get as much water as possible every day. I stayed within my calorie range even when we went to cracker barrel for Sunday dinner last week. They just started offering a fit menu and I ordered a breakfast choice off of that. I did not eat any fast food this week. I packed healthy snacks for work. i discovered luna bars. Peanut honey Pretzel is so very good and packed with nutrition. Great on the go snack.

The scale went up and down all week. I ended the week with a 3lb. loss. I was expecting more, but overall I was pleased with that. I ate healthy and moved more. These are the tools for lifelong change.

This week my plan is this.

1) keep getting enough water (8 cups minimum)

2) keep within my calorie range

3) hit the gym atleast 5 days this week

4) do the weight circuit tues, and Thursday.

5) incorporate more veggies into my diet this week, and greek yogurt.

Hey sparkpeople,
Today I had the house to myself, a true rarity since I am married with 3 sons. I decided to use the quiet to do some reflecting. I joined sparkpeople way back in 2007 but really invested in it in 2009. I lost over 70 lbs. that year. Since then I have gained it back and for a long while completely lost my "spark". I read all my old blogs this morning and remembered the highs and the lows along my journey. It is a journey, a lifelong journey. It is not a diet it is my life. I have let stress, and laziness tear down my health. I am really, finally, at the point where I am ready to take back my health and my life again. I took a 2.5 yr detour but I am still striving for that destination, to be a healthy me.
Along this journey I had 1 friend who has never given up on me. Michelene Cleary, we met on Spark , and when i was struggling you reached out to me and offered to be my "text" support system. We have been texting ever since and you have consistently been an inspiration and a friend to me. You Rock!!!!!

Here is to remembering the past, but moving forward on my journey.

Weighed in this morning at 237.6. Started on Saturday weighing 240.0. So far I am down 2lbs. I Joined Planet fitness yesterday and will do my first workout there today. The only gym I have ever worked out at is the YMCA. I am nervous about working out somewhere new. But since it is located between home and work,
I have no excuse not to go. Right now my plan is 3o min. on the treadmill M-F and the 30 minute weight circuit Tues. and Thursday. I have my workout playlist loaded in my Mp3 player and my tennis shoes on. Here I go :) emoticon

I signed up for the 10 minute fitness challenge today. I have committed to do 10 minutes of fitness for the next 60 days. I am so out of shape I am really hoping this the start of something healthy.
