The best day to weigh yourself !!!!!!

If you weigh yourself weekly pick Friday as the weigh in day. Why ? Seeing how well you did during the week makes it easier to resist wrong choices or portion control temptations.
Remember if it is just one pound that you lost it is great because it is not a gain, & if it is not a lose then it is not a gain which is still great. So why would we want to over indulge even if there is no lose just because we saw no loss on Friday, then eat like crazy over the weekend. Then we weigh the following Friday & find a gain just because we were upset we did not have a lose the previous Friday, or we weigh in on a Friday & find only a pound lost then get upset with ourselves & say what's the use only a pound & over indulge then come the following Friday & another pound was added to the one pound gained from last weigh in. So my day to weigh in from now on is Friday because those 2 days are my weakest. Let's give it a try what do you say!!!!!!!!!

    I like weighing in on Friday morning, right after I get up. I weigh nude and NPO (nothing by mouth). The reason I like Friday mornings is that I like to be able to go out either Friday or Saturday night and have a few drinks and possibly have a meal out. Friday morning weigh-ins allow me many days to get back on track because of the drinks or water retention.

    I try to weigh in on a Monday - then all weekend I feel more in control cause i have to weigh in on Monday... works to keep me more focused on the weekend. I think if I weighed in on Friday, I would overindulge on the weekend cause the next weigh-in is still a long way off and I would convince myself that I could lose anything I put on over the weekend before the next weigh-in. I think it is a case of do what works best for you to motivate and keep on track.
It is wonderful for you to share your tips and to get other perspectives on the idea. Thanks - i had never really thought about this before.

    I do mine on Saturday mornings but I was doing it Friday's. I changed it because of a challenge. I'm not sure if I will go back to Friday's after the challenge or keep Saturdays.

    sounds good, but I do my weigh in on Sunday. Knowing I will be weighing helps me keep focused over the weekend.

    Good ideal.My relationship with the scale is not good.
I retain water so easy and still learning how to use less salt when cooking.

So I am afraid of the scale these days,but Mondays had been my days but will think about Fridays.

    I have been weighing on Fridays too but only because I have to go somewhere and have it done and Fridays work best for that. Emotionallys, I always liked Mondays because knowing it was coming up, set my mind to be successful through the weekend.

I don't worry so much about the "day" and instead work at being consistent every day. What a push that is some days. Have a great week of effort.

Needing to shed the weight like I am shedding the material items

I made my first fruit smoothie today. I added 1 banana, 4 huge frozen strawberry's, 1/2 cup of frozen blueberry's, & raspberry's 1 cup of fat free milk. Was so good!!!!!! I also did a 84 minute work out from Nicole's 28 day boot camp. I kept within my calorie intake, the snow came today so I stayed in all day & worked at sorting through a closet, basement, & drawers. I got rid of boxes of one of too any things, I still have a lot to go through. I had a whole bag of videos & cd's Also found a lot of work out tapes I will be using those. I shed so many material things so that is what I need to do with my weight!!!!!!!

Butternut Squash on a cold winter's day's

I made my first squash soup. Oh my my it was so good!!!!!!
Cook 4 cups of cubed Butternut Squash ( I bought the package that was already peeled & cubed in the produce section.
1/4 cup diced onion ( put mine in the food chopper )
1 can of fat free low sodium chicken broth
1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 can creamed corn
After squash is cooked drain & put in blender & puree
Put squash,broth,cinnamon, onion & corn in a pot boil for 5 minutes then add 2 cups of fat free milk simmer for 5 minutes.

    This is a great soup for a winter night. Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. I looked at your January 1st blog, and saw you are also part of th "gang" whose mother insists we have sauerkraut on New Years Day. I like mine in the form of a rueben sandwich...though I like it other times as well.

I am beginning to see what it is all about. I am finally getting it. I found Jensfit journey. Read everything you possibly can from the beginning. What an amazing journey she is on . What a beautiful transformation,because Jen believed & set GOALS for herself. You have to read her journey to see how she put it all together. I officially tonight began my journey . I was cheating on the exercise & had the nerve to say " why I am not getting any where, " I was not faithfully recording my food intake, cheating like mad. Oh sure I would be good one day ,cheat the next, & actually would think I could lose weight,what a joke I was. I even actually started to have the mind set to think I am 61 in my twilight years whats the use. No longer thanks to Jen's blogging.

    SP brings all new meaning to the phrase, "going streaking," so I suspect it is appropriate to advise a fellow SPer to do just that: Go streaking. You will feel better after a 10-day, 20-min a day, stretch of light exercise.

Oh, and I must thank you for the water and veggies advice that you had left on my page. Noted. I am discovering how thirsty I have been. Counting 8 glasses a day makes me realize just how little H2O I had been drinking. And yes, I feel better.

    Thanks for the comment on my blog; you're right, skipping meals isn't good. I think they key to breaking my habit is to be more organized and plan ahead lol.

And I hear you on the exercise lol. Hardest part is just getting to where ever or whatever you do to get yourself moving. My goal for this weeks is to go to the gym twice. Baby steps! That's what I tell myself lol. You'll get there too :D.
