Psalm 40

Psalm 40 New King James Version

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.

2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.

4 Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

7 Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

8 I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”

9 I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
O LORD, You Yourself know.

10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.

11 Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD;
Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me;
My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up;
They are more than the hairs of my head;
Therefore my heart fails me.

13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me;
O LORD, make haste to help me!

14 Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion
Who seek to destroy my life;
Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor
Who wish me evil.

15 Let them be confounded because of their shame,
Who say to me, “Aha, aha!”

16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
Let such as love Your salvation say continually,
“The LORD be magnified!”

17 But I am poor and needy;
Yet the LORD thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.

Team Work...

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

Spark People Translation

A single individual is capable of amazing things in this world, like severing their own arm that is trapped under a boulder to stay alive, or inventing electricity. But when a group of individuals come together to form a working unit, this can turn into magic. While individuals possess many skills, when they are alone some of these skills may not come out. Interaction amongst others could develop new ideas spurred off other ones. Construction becomes easier; long projects become shorter, the possibilities are endless. Teamwork however is not that simple. A good team or group does not work well together automatically; they have to work at working well together. But once a group meets this point, where it is clicking on all cylinders, this is when incredible successes can happen. Remember the power of one is great, but the power of many is even greater.

So Let's stick together, Spark on, taking one day at a time. emoticon

Recycle, Reduce, Make God's World Greener & Cleaner...

Monday, December 05, 2011

Good Morning Team,

I was huddling on one of my Teams yesterday and there was a new game, entitled ABC Game, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Everyone left thoughts,ideas, comments on how they recycle, got me to thinking about the world God has given us.

We all know we are to be good stewards of all that we do including how we treat this space God has given us. He wants us to look after the world and treat it good, we all have our part to leave our space clean and make it as green as we can, one of the many ways we can keep our world greener and cleaner is by reducing the amount of garbage that leaves our household. We can recycle pretty much everything, including composting kitchen waste. There is a bin for almost everything, if we all do our part we will have a greener and cleaner planet to live on. And I believe this will make our God pleased with what we are doing.

I recycle old out-dated electronics, computers, printers, There is a recycle depot for dropping off old electronics and there are glass recycling bins that are available for everyone to use, I know as I was on a committee that started a recycling program in our complex which by the way is going strong, we compost kitchen waste, throw cardboard boxes, papers, plastic containers, cans, plastic and glass bottles in a number of recycling bins, we have reduced our general garbage by over 50% this past year just by recycling...

Can you imagine if every household in your community recycled how much garbage would be spared from your local landfill? Just thinking about it, is staggering, wow, let's do our part, Let's Recycle, Re-use, Reduce the amount of garbage we throw away daily, weekly and annually by being wise and good stewards of what God has given us. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    We compost in the Spring-Summer and into Fall in Missouri...but when we come back to Tucson for the winter we have a neighborhood association that won't let you do a single thing. I do my best...in Missouri I hang all my clothes out to dry and don't use the dryer, compost, raise our own veggies, we burn wood in the Fall until we leave.....here in Tucson someone stopped in one day to tell me I was in "violation" because I had a sweater hanging out on a hanger on our side porch...and it could be "seen" from the road....wow, get a grip!

Great blog!

    We do recycle. we rsduce our garbarge by more than half. Plus if you watch how you buy things trash will be less.
It would be nice if everyone does keep track of everything.
We are a throw away society. We don't take time to fix or reuse anything. We buy and throw away.
I liked your blog, I hope a lot of people read it.

Weekend Prayer Focus

Weekend Prayer Focus for December 2, 3, 4

Pray for Unity within the Body of Christ

• Pray that we will demonstrate Godly Love to one another
• That we would be devoted to prayer
• That we would be good stewards of the resources God gives us
• That we would engage in good deeds and be fruitful vessels God can use
• That we will be Bold Witnesses, proclaiming the Gospel message to others
• That we would be servants that would walk in a manner worthy of our calling

Scripture Focus

John 13:34 (New Living Translation)

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

Ephesians 4:1-3 (New Living Translation)

1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.

2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.

Ephesians 6:19 (New Living Translation)

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.
