Youth Group Fundraiser...Bake Sale

Monday, March 14, 2011

Today was Youth Sunday where our youth group was featured in our Sunday morning service, worship was led by the youth group and our Youth Pastor brought the message. After the group did a bake sale fund raiser to raise funds for the Missions outreach trip they take every summer, they also do a number of other ministry related events that require extra funds the church can't help with.

Wow, you should of seen all the baked goods these young people made, scrumptious for sure. The sale was a complete success, they raised $1,273.00. We all had to bid on the item and the highest bidder got the sweet goodies. I ended up by getting two items out of 4 I bid on, I also bought 1 piece of raspberry chocolate cheesecake for $5 and the 2 items I bid on were the dark chocolate almond bark with pecans and marshmallow cornflake delights... boy am I going to have a feast, no worries, all in moderation...of course.. LOL

Here is a sample of the photo's below these young people baked...makes your mouth water...

I'm heading off to bed now after a full day, it was daylight savings time and I didn't get as much sleep as would normally. Not to worry, tonight I plan to sleep well and there is no losing the hour sleep like I did last night. See you all tomorrow..God's Blessings..

    I like the idea of bidding on the items. Funner than the traditional bake sale!

    It is wonderful to have a church that supports its youth. Bake sales and even car washes are excellent fund raisers. The goodies looked wonderful!

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made....

Friday, March 11, 2011

I took a couple of quizzes tonight on healthy eating and the person I see in the mirror. I found out by my answers that I'm comfortable in my skin and like who Judith is, I don't compare myself with others and wish I was something that I'm not.

As far as my healthy choices, I found out I have a good outlook on food, eat healthy and allow myself treats and not feel guilty when I indulge in junk foods once in a while.

By the answers I chose I found that I have a healthy outlook in general and feel good about me. I'm "comfortable in the person" God has made me to be, from the inside out.

Reminds me of the Scripture that tells me that I'm fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. See Psalm 139:13-15 (New King James Version)

13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skilfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

    The fearfully and wonderfully made verses are some of my favorite. . . God has to remind me often that He has made me special -- to do His purposes.

    What a wonderful place to be. Thanking God for allowing us to BE..just BE. Be in His world..Be aware of who He is...Belong to Him...He loves us and that is Amazing! He wants us, He wants to spend time with us, He likes us. So..who else do we need to impress? Being right where He has planned for us to be is the greatest place in life. emoticon

Celebrating my 8th month SparkVersary....

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Today marks my 8th month sparkversary, wow, just to think it was last summer when my good friend, Jean invited me to SP. Most of all I thank God for the friend's I have met here at SP. God Bless you my friend's. Let's continue to spark together and become the men and women that God would have us to be. Let's Spark for Jesus! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

An Awesome Day...

Wednesday, March 09, 2011

Tonight at W2W at my Church we had our monthly meeting, what made it so special & interesting was we had a cooking demonstration, a lot of good healthy food and a great Food Demonstrator, she works as a Cooking Demonstrator at Costco. What an awesome evening of fellowship and great sampling of food.

We also received our 1st ever W2W's Cookbook that we put together as a group. I submitted 2 recipes and some of my friend's did too, some more some less...

Today has been a full day, began this morning leading my weekly Ladies Bible Study and then went out tonight to my W2W's meeting, sure haven't been home much today.

Will catch up with my message boards and with you my friend's tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the photo's, will take a photo of my recipe` book and post it and some other photo's of the group tomorrow.

Have a great nights sleep, Sweet Dreams and God Bless...

To Do List From God

Monday, March 07, 2011

I ran my life in search of worldly things;
My time and will were firmly in control.
I thought I had no need for what God brings;
I gave no heed to murmurs from my soul.

“You’re planning, doing all the time,” it said,
“But something else is missing deep inside.
Your mind is whirling, but your heart is dead,
So turn to God and let go of your pride.”

I did, and God said, “Here’s My plan for you:
Give your life to Me, and just let go.
Have faith and pray, and read the Bible through,
And you’ll have blessings more than you can know.”

So simple, yet it brings me perfect peace,
Living life for God the way I should.
Direction, purpose, fullness and release—
Life with God is very, very good.

by Joanna Fuchs

The inspirational Christian poem above, To Do List From God, focuses on how much better and more peaceful life is when we move away from worldly things and closer to Jesus.

Christians who remember what their lives were like before being saved can relate to how this Christian poems reveals how the stresses of the world and our need to plan and control things can make life difficult.

When we turn it all over to God, life becomes so much more peaceful and satisfying.
