Gone but not forgotten

Friday, January 10, 2014

Been over a year since my last blog and I can say I am in a great place and enjoying life. Its been a long and crazy weight loss journey and for the first time I can say I did not give up. I may have gotten off track but I did not let it derail me!!! Seeing what my body can do and be capable of has been amazing. I always new there was no quick fix but that did not stop me in the past from taking diet pills, crash diets, starving myself and over exercising. I wanted instant results and the faster the better.

I may have strayed away from spark people but its always been in the back of my mind I may have been gone but spark people I have not forgotten..... all the beautiful people that have inspired me and gave me inspiration. Although I am not yet at my goal weight I have faith that one day I know I will be and its okay if its a year from now. I will enjoy the moments as they come and learn from my mistakes.

This past year has been so crazy losing my job, ending 5 year relationship, losing friends, losing my place of residence....In the midst of all the losing at some point I found myself and found out that I am stronger than I thought I was!!

New Day

Friday, October 05, 2012

I cant believe its been over a year since my last blog and I fell so completely of the map. I remember just like it was yesterday writing my Sunshine, Mud Puddles, and Katy Perry Blog and it seems like yesterday and not over a year ago wow. What I wouldent give to get that feeling back pure adrenaline, and a can do it all attitude.

What happen I'm pretty sure life and general laziness set it but I wonder after all this time can I recapture that old feeling get back out there and do it again and this time stay the course.
If there could only be a magic button that you could push and be instantly motivate that would be awesome yeah I would invest in that. But bake to reality you have to create your own motivation ughhh emoticon really I think it would be easier just to plop down on the couch with a bucket of ice cream and watch Biggest Loser until inspiration hits me!! Yep sounds pretty good to me what about you emoticon......I'm totally just kidding!!!

I will be my own motivation

I will never give up

I will not make excuses

I will not choose the road to failure

I will succeed and if I fall I will get back up and start over again even if its a year later. As long as you are alive its never to late to start over. Every day is a new day for a new being and today is mine.

SUNSHINE*MUD PUDDLES*KATY PERRY

> emoticon emoticon> emoticon emoticon> emoticon emoticon

Do you ever feel already buried deep?
Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that thereís still a chance for you
CAUSE THERS A SPARK IN YOU?

You gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fire Works Katy Perry

So I woke up Saturday morning ready to hit the trails and so excited for what the day would bring and I looked out the window and all I saw was rain.
There goes my Saturday one of the only days I have to really enjoy the great outdoors. Sooo oh well I just sucked it up and got ready for the gym. Then the most amazing thing happen just before I was heading out to the gym the rain stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!> emoticon

What a amazing day this was gonna be I hit the gym did 45 min. of ST and was on my way to catch some of that good old sunshine oh how I love it!!!!

So there it was the sun, mud puddles , and Kati Perry!!! I donít knw what else could have made it better. The first song that I here as my feet hit the pavement (MUD) FIRE WORKS what a great way to start.

As I navigate through the mud and hills I realize that there is a spark in me and only I can ignite it and make my life the way I want it to be. Funny how a song can inspire you and change the tune of your whole day and whole life sometimes. I ended burning about 700 calories and tracked over 5 miles and after all that even managed to wash the car afterwards.

LIFE IS GREAT AND IM LOVING EVER MINUTE OF IT. I HOPE THAT ALL YOU SPARKERS FINDS THE SPARK IN YOU, CAUSE I HAVE FOUND MINE AND BABY IM GOING TO LET MY COLORS BURST (THANKS KATY PERRY)

Fireworks is also one of my favorite running songs. I end up just singing -- the words are soooo motivational for me. I love running in puddles too! Looks like your trail is a gorgeous trail to take a run!

Dont Quit

Friday, April 08, 2011

Don't Quit

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

I have 2 scales I use. 1 that is 1 pound lighter than the other one, and it's a cheap~o Sunbeam brand, and then I have a Weight Watchers and I use to have a taylor brand scale too.. It never gave me a good reading... The numbers would yo yo everytime

To check to see if my scale is right.. I use a 10lb weight. It hit it right on the dot every time.. I do this to keep my batts in check once every 3 weeks.

I have a set of rules I weigh by..
1. I do my morning business.. Wait a spell..
2. Don't eat or drink a drop of anything.
3. Take off my robe, in my fully new born body "naked".
4. I step on look down, and get that number and run.

I'm done playing the mental weigh this weigh that, drag that scale out and weigh again game.. It's stressful. VERY!

Saturday's and Wednesday's are my weigh n days..
Once I see that number.. I slide into the shower wash..And get dress

My don'ts..
Weigh after a workout.
Weigh after eating or drinking.
Weigh as soon as I role out the bed.
I give my body 15 good minutes to adjust, and then I step on.

At the doctor's office..
I do weigh.. But I'm just like my friend..
I wear leggings and a nice fitting tee.. "WORKOUT GEAR"
When they tell me I lost on there scales.. I'm cool too..

One doctor told me.. A pound of weave can change your numbers and a gallon of water too.. He learn that from his wife..
She acted a fool when he braids weighed her in at 132 lbs.. LOL! SO, just roll with the scale and the numbers you like the most. Loss is loss.. Gain is a gain, but it's all about how you feel..

I had a Taylor brand scale that was constantly giving me different numbers. I would have to step on it numerous times, within a matter of minutes just to get a consistent reading. I broke up with that scale and bought a $20 weight watchers scale and it's always consistent. I know because there is a wellness coach who comes to my job who has a fancy expensive tanita scale and there are just a few lbs difference between her scale and mine. But I attribute the difference to water bloat because I step on my scale first thing in the morning, sans cloths, after emptying my bladder. And I get on hers towards the end of the day. So I'd say just stick with your scale at home for a more consistent reading, without clothes and weigh in first thing in the morning. Good luck! emoticon

We had a digital scale that my husband complained about constantly, said he could weigh himself 3 times in 3 minutes and get 3 very different results. One morning, I took the scale from our bathroom so that I could do a morning weigh-in w/o disturbing my husband, who works nights and sleeps days. The weight it gave me in the dining room was horrid, and I thought, no way I gained that much. I tried again in the kitchen, different weight. Downstairs bathroom, 3rd weight. Took it downstairs to the foyer, got my 4th reading of the day. I bought a new scale that weekend!

off by 7lbs! At the doctor's office the scale said I weighed 7
lbs. So I am in a delema too! I like what my scale says!

Hmmm, I would add the two and divide by two for now. I do have two scales in my house. One I don't use, because it weighs me in at 2 lbs more than the other. I just like the one that's more kind to my psyche :-).
