Well, it hasn't gotten any warmer. In fact in the last week we had some record cold days. But at least there has not been any significant snow falling from the sky. So I have yet to start doing any type of outdoor exercising. The temperatures for the next week look positive but still not as warm as it should be this time of year. I am looking forward, as I do every year, to changing my clocks ahead one hour this coming Sunday.
This last month was still a very good one although the last couple days I didn't lose anything, I hope that's not a sign of a "brick wall." I did lose a total of 16lbs for a total of 40lbs for the year (starting Jan 6th) and now weigh 375lbs. I certainly feel better. I can move around better and I have been doing the higher workouts on my stationary bike.
Personally, things have gotten much better. We took the kids on the train for the first time in to NYC and saw Sesame Street Live at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. We then proceeded to walk up to Times Square and visit Hershey's and m&m's World. After, we took them in a taxi uptown to a cool themed diner called Big Daddy's. Although it was fairly empty which must be because of the major, long term construction project underway just outside their front door for the new 2nd Avenue subway being built. Inside was great décor which included old lunch boxes and painted logos from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Also vintage packaging on items such as cereal boxes and other items around the kitchen. Although all of that was nice, the food.... OH, the food was soooooooo good. And it wasn't just because this was a reward day and I could eat anything. Between my wife, kids and myself we had the most amazing Mozzarella Stix with as the menu said the best marinara you will ever have and it was. Eggrolls, the best, cheesiest mac&cheese ever, perfectly cooked French fries. The Kitchen Sink, which was a huge salad with everything in it. Kathy only was able to eat about half it was so big. And the Grand Daddy Burger, which had to be one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I have ever eaten with tater tots on it as well. It was so good, not heavy. [Although this was basically all I ate all day I gained 5lbs. But I didn't worry about it and lost it and more over the next three days because I got right back on track.] And to compliment the décor and food, the service was second to none. I always tip very well but we gave him an extremely good cash tip. Then another taxi ride back to the train and back home. Kids were exhausted. We were tired. But it was a truly wonderful family day which was the start of a great long weekend, that trip being on Thursday and it lead in to the week being great as well.
So that brings us to the next month. I still have a positive mental attitude which allows me to eat healthy, still no fast food or soda or junk food, and to not see exercise as a chore. I sure hope the weather changes soon for the better though. I would love to start walking every day. And I would love to see the piles of snow melt all the way so I can start getting my yard clean and ready for Spring. Hope to lose another 16+ next month. I'll shoot for 20. My semi-long term goal right now is to be small enough to go to Six Flags before this season is over. That being said, that would mean 100lbs less then I am right now before the end of October. That will be tough but I'm looking forward to sweating it out over the summer months.
Thanks for reading, commenting and your support. I hope I can motivate you with my journey and words. Keep SParking.
Take care and stay healthy
p.s. I just took a quick look at when I was this weight last, and it was exactly one year ago. And one year prior to that I was 369. So basically, a waste of two years. But not 2014, OH NO! I can't wait to look back from March 6, 2015 and feel so proud.
