Exercise DVD review - Turbo Fire (30min)

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Hey as I promised I am going to tell you about the new video I did this morning. I had purchased Turbo Fire and Rev Abs a few years ago before I left my other job and thought I would try it. Well that was blah time and I turned into Jelly Judi and did not exercise. These are Beach Body products which I totally love, free plug for BB.

Well JJ is going away now and I have finally decided to break out the new stuff sort of new anyway and get to sweatin' and strainin' and all that jazz. There are options w/the turbo fire that I am in love with. my description calls it turbo fire-30 well if I knew what I was doing emoticon it would have been 30 min., but since I was "new" to class she has an optional selection. When you choose the "New to class" you get the timer that shows 32 min but she stops the video and clock before each routine and explains what the moves are and then we do them on the clock. I looked at my dvd player and it was more like 45 min that we did this and let me tell you the moves are intense and I FELT them. It was FUN!! I almost want to do that tomorrow, but alas, that will be Rev Abs, Interval Training.

There was another selection on the same dvd called Stretch 10(really 12) and so after I worked my butt to near dropping, I did the stretch and it was a really good stretch. All in all this was an awesome video. It's about time I used them. emoticon

You know you probably could find them on Youtube---- www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_FUBobAHxw&
that is the link I found for the video I did. Check it out. I mean this was really an intense and fun workout!!

Glad you enjoyed your first Turbo experience! The New To Class option is really helpful when you are starting out, and I bet by the time you are doing some of the longer workouts you won't even need to use it anymore. :)

You should come join us on Team TurboFire Fitness!

I'm glad you liked it! I LOVE Turbo Fire and Chalene! Right now I'm doing Turbo Fire also, with some Chalean Extreme as well. TF is just so much FUN! I feel pretty strong afterwards. :)

STSCOTT11, there are actually a lot of Beachbody success stories, my favorite is Kristy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52-
m0c898XA), she's amazing! Another would be Tommy Mygrant, you can find him on youtube as well... I swear I'm not a Beachbody coach or employee I just really love their videos. :)

    GLAD you like it.
I hope if give you all your looking for. I have P90X vids...never have done it as a program but I do some of the videos now and then. GREAT workouts.
I watched the video...my only complaint is... they never have anyone who is TRULY out of shape. They show people who need to lose -20-30 lbs...maybe...but nobody that is morbidly obese who TRANSFORMS. Just saying.

The Last Mistake That I Made

Monday, October 22, 2012

Well last Friday was a free for all. We had CAKE, emoticonCAKE, emoticonAND candy emoticon. I normally get upset w/myself emoticon when I mess up. But I decided not to let it get me down emoticon. I decided that for this "oops" I would just make it up by eating light on Saturday. So I took it easy Saturday as usual. I walked the fuzz butts and then stayed in bed for most of the day.

I ate something light and since I didn't do anything it worked . I made up for my sluggish behavior on Sunday. I did my normal turbo sculpt and then laundry which is a job and a half. I have to go downstairs to wash and then back up then back down...yada, yada, yada. I have to work out tonight when I get home since I am feeling sluggish still.

I was thinking a yoga workout or one of my favs "Hot Hula Fitness". So we will see what gives when I get home tonight.

I am not letting my "oops" hold me back! I am going to sweat it out and make my day right! I love it when I work out. I am going to start doing the Rev abs emoticon and Turbo Fire emoticonwork outs. I need more emoticon sweating emoticon and more muscle work emoticon. I think I am taking it too easy on myself. emoticon

No more Mrs Nice Lady! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Hard work!!

It was never about the cake, it was always about how YOU approached it. Cake doesn't have attitude, though I'm sure chocolate does :-D , but it's the choices we make when in these circumstances and gatherings that will help us down the road. So you had *some* cake. I say, GOOD FOR YOU! :-D And you had a plan to recover from that moment in time, and it didn't feel outrageous to follow that plan.

I have a card posted on the wall right outside my bedroom door that says, "today is a new day". It is one of the first things I see each morning. It reminds me that good or bad the day before, it doesn't matter. Today IS a new day. :) Great attitude Judi!!

Stress Stinks!!! (Yuck, Pooh, Barf!!!!)

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

This is just a venting moment and I really don't think anyone would want to read this. I had to get this off my chest and this was the only way I knew how to do that. So if you do read this please don't comment. I am crying now and don't really want to cry anymore today.

I have so much stress in my life right now I am not even sure what I am doing. I have a headache that has lasted now for about 3 months. My left knee has been hurting on a regular basis but now it hurts so much that the pain in right hip is not as noticeable. I don't stress eat, I tend not to eat when I am stressed. I work out like I have a drill sergeant on my back! I am also having "Personal Summers" and sometimes I want to just explode.

One morning getting ready to go to work my watch was scratching my wrist and I got so angry I literally ripped it off my arm. (Gotta get that fixed now). And then banged my hands on the steering wheel and took a couple few deep breaths, asked God to help me get thru this and backed out of the garage.

I am wound so tight that someone walked up behind me a little while ago and I almost passed out from hyperventialting. I am a basket case.

If I step back from myself I can push my issues to the side and function like a "normal" person. I just don't know what "normal' is these days. I go to others blogs and speak words of encouragement to them but it seems I can't take my own advice. The good thing is I am loosing inches and I am looking pretty good for a 53 and a half year old woman. I need my workouts since they keep me grounded. I try not to think too much about my stressful situation when I workout. I actually am happy then. It is my happy time. I want to just exercise and forget my problems an hour. I punch, kick, dance and sculpt, lift weights, and life is not so bad right then. I stop and within an hour I am back to "thinking" again.

I am tired now and will go back to work. I apologize if this blog was read and depressed anyone. But hey I did warn you!

I'm a couple weeks late reading this, and I haven't finished reading the other blogs yet, but I wanted to comment on this one.

You said you're experiencing "Personal Summers", and you're agitated lately. I'm also betting the Personal Summers are preventing you from getting a good night's sleep. I know when I get them, I toss and turn most of the night, and I'm just plain cranky and depressed the next day. But when some of those episodes passed, and I slept better, it made all the difference in the world. I *STRONGLY* suggest you talk to your doctor about those losing it moments, the hot flashes, and other common symptoms related to peri- and post-menopause. And do some reading on the topic -- I found some decent articles on Spark's Health Center section. You truly do NOT have to suffer like this.

With that said, I will also say a "HOORAY" for the work-out attitude. The chemicals released into your body when you work out allow you to decompress, much like the fight or flight response. Your stress reliever is doing hard cardio, I suspect. Mine is too, except my body can't always handle that much aggressiveness, so sometimes I have to remember to relax, and do (what often feels like a very boring session of) yoga. I know that kind of movement is what works for me to relax. But I think you're on the right path. :-D

Oh, and say no to HRT's. :-D

OK, I'm back, and like you those drill sergeant work outs help my mood. I've gained 10+ lbs in the last two weeks, so it's time. How we going to do this? Post daily our workout minutes? email each other? Let me know, cause it's 1:30 and I'm still sitting here in my robe, haven't brushed my teeth, or washed my face. really need to get back on track here to fix my mood too. :)

I know you said not to comment, but I can't help it. I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time. I am prone to headaches, but I have never heard of one lasting for that long. That in itself would put me way over the top. I sincerely hope that you are feeling better soon, but I also want to congratulate you for channeling some of that stress into doing something really good for yourself. A lot of people wouldn't be able to do that (that includes me!).

Video Review- Cardio Blast w/Gliding Disks

Friday, October 12, 2012

I was tasked to review a workout DVD that I have never tried. We were to rent one or get it frm the library, well I have my own personal library of dvds that I have not tried yet. This is one of 3 in this glider disk series that I have. Don't ask why have them and not use them, I am just strange like that. Any way I digress.

The person performing the exercises is Mindy Mylrea and she is a tiny powerhouse and she also is the inventor. This particular video is just her. She makes the moves look easy, but don't be fooled. I need oxygen after that workout. The dvd runs about 30 min and gives you choices of what you can do, ie..sections or the entire video. There are 6 sections, Intro and Warm up, Cardio 1, Gliding 1, Cardio 2, Gliding 2, Cardio 3 (this section contains drills), Gliding 3 and the cool down. I really like how she does not make you feel bad for not doing the full intensity, actually encouraging you take it slow.

The video is not what I am used to but it is worth a repeat. I Like the gliding disks, it's kinda cool to slide around and really try not to fall. **side note, I am accident prone and the fact that I did this and didn't hurt myself is why I want to try this again. The instructor shows how you can lower the intensity. She is enthusiastic w/out being annoying. I can see myself doing the other 2 videos that I have now.
