Are you ready to change your lifestyle quiz

Friday, March 18, 2011

Well, I took the quiz to see where I stand. One or two of the questions didn't have me perfectly matched with an answer. I was kind of in between answers, so I did the best I could have done. Here's the result:
There are five stages of change that people move through when losing bad habits or creating new ones (pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance). You're in the fourth stage, known as action, where you've done the prep work, implemented your plan, and will begin to see results. This stage is no walk in the park, however. The action stage requires lots of time and energy, and although you've already made the change, your work is still cut out for you as you strive to maintain it for a lifetime. But if you’ve come this far, you can handle it. You'll be in the final stage, maintenance, in no time! Enjoy the journey.
I was pretty pleased with that. I'd say it's fairly accurate. I rarely buy chips (my weakness) anymore, but when I do, I'm all over that bag! I try to make good choices at the food store. We almost always cook meals at home. Well, I guess that's the whole assessment. Hopefully I can continue this and move to the next level without regression.

The idea is that you took the test, understand where you need to be, what you need to do and take action. My motto is to put it in your mind and know that you can do it, one step at a time. emoticon

knee injury

Saturday, November 06, 2010

i hurt my knee last night. all i was doing was walking up my stairs when it just gave out! i've had a pain below my kneecap ever since. i didn't exercise today (or yesterday). i'm going to take the treadmill off the incline. i'm wondering if that's where the problem came from. i know my knees didn't feel wonderful when i first started there, but i thought they'd get used to it. i guessed wrong.

what a day :(

Monday, November 01, 2010

taking the van to the shop and getting a loaner car should have taken mere minutes. instead it took AN HOUR! the car they promised had magically disappeared. they had to clean up some other junky car. it was apparently so bad inside that it took that long to CLEAN IT! it smells so DISGUSTING inside! my daughter said that it smells like a funeral home. my friend asked if something died in it!
this afternoon, i was ordering a long list of piano books and was nearly finished when my page disappeared! i had to completely start over again :( all the book ordering took most of the afternoon :(
on the upside, i did get my daughter's dress to the seamstress for alterations. the seamstress thinks that everything should turn out great! i hope tomorrow is a lot better!

I am SO hungry for chips right now!

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

I just came home from the food store, missing my lunch. No, I didn't buy any chips. I was in the chip isle buying salsa for my husband and I didn't even look at the chips! I did go into the cookie isle even tho nothing on my list should lead me into that isle. But I said to myself that I didn't need anything there. I may have even said that outloud! After unloading the van, I had the dog outside and had the sudden urge for chips! I AM SO HUNGRY FOR CHIPS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

tried pomegranate today

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

hey... pomegranates are tasty! They are not the easiest thing to get the seeds out of. It's very tedious. The juice in the seeds is nice and sweet. The seed inside reminds me of a small grape seed. These seeds look just like corn, only red! My younger kids loved them! I tricked my son into trying it by telling him to try this red corn! After his face lit up when he tried it, I told him what it was. He just kept eating it! They were good on our chicken at dinner too! Good stuff!
