I really need to get more sleep I don't know why I always want to stay up late. I've always been a night owl and preferred to sleep in. With a family, that's not possible. But I'm still staying up later than I should. It's ridiculous and not good for me. QUIT DOING THIS!

I am confirmed Night Owl too! I know I have responsibilities for the next day. My mind seems to work better after I have been awake for a while. Then the morning wake-up is terrible, it takes me an hour or two to funtion.

chicken pot pie

Thursday, October 16, 2014

I made homemade chicken pot pie today... the real kind like is made in Lancaster County! Of course, it didn't turn out just like my mom's, but it wasn't bad. Homemade is healthier too since I made the broth from scratch. I controlled the salt, and there's no preservatives and other crap in it! I need to do more cooking again. (just not pot pie very often - it takes all day!)

joint pain

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

This joint pain is a real bother. My hands, wrists, ankles, knees hurt a lot today. My back still hurts from yesterday's drive. Not much to be done about my back I guess. Ibuprofin helps some. I'll be trying some exercises tomorrow. Hopefully it won't make my back too sore.

I'm back...... again

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

I'm trying again. Last time, I let someone's comments (and lack of comments) bother me enough to say 'forget this'. So I gradually gained back what I had lost. It's time to bug him about what he needs to do with weight loss and get us both going.
I am trying to find exercises that will be okay with my back. I injured my lower back a couple of years ago. I am afraid of overdoing something and then not being able to do things for a while. I did try some ball exercises that I found on here, and then my back hurt for 3 days! Anyway, I'll be trying things out. Ice is always helpful (I have some on now since I had to spend 6 hours in a car today!)
Motivation, come on. I'll try to get the family involved. That should help.

Yes, I have gone through physical therapy. There's not much to do about the problem I have. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Are you ready to change your lifestyle quiz

Friday, March 18, 2011

Well, I took the quiz to see where I stand. One or two of the questions didn't have me perfectly matched with an answer. I was kind of in between answers, so I did the best I could have done. Here's the result:
There are five stages of change that people move through when losing bad habits or creating new ones (pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance). You're in the fourth stage, known as action, where you've done the prep work, implemented your plan, and will begin to see results. This stage is no walk in the park, however. The action stage requires lots of time and energy, and although you've already made the change, your work is still cut out for you as you strive to maintain it for a lifetime. But if you’ve come this far, you can handle it. You'll be in the final stage, maintenance, in no time! Enjoy the journey.
I was pretty pleased with that. I'd say it's fairly accurate. I rarely buy chips (my weakness) anymore, but when I do, I'm all over that bag! I try to make good choices at the food store. We almost always cook meals at home. Well, I guess that's the whole assessment. Hopefully I can continue this and move to the next level without regression.

The idea is that you took the test, understand where you need to be, what you need to do and take action. My motto is to put it in your mind and know that you can do it, one step at a time. emoticon
