Who is this doppelganger that is taking over me? Could it be that finally I am having a breakthrough moment? It is February 3, 2012, I've been on Sparkpeople for years and only have just really committed to a healthy lifestyle. I've been actively re-pursuing my Spark and started my lifestyle change the day after Thanksgiving 2011. This is my 68th day and I'm down almost 30 pounds. YaY me!
My favorite food is pizza; frozen, fresh, english muffin, pita - you name it. Tonight I drove waaay out of my way to shop at a Stop & Shop because they carry Dr. Oetker's frozen pizza. I had a free coupon for an entire pie. My sons aren't home, I'm a little melancholy, I've been good for 68 days, pizza sounds like a great reward..........WRONG.... well, sort of.
Now, I won't tell you I bypassed the pizza for celery (yuk) or salad. I did buy the pizza. Veggie, 260 calories per 1/3 pie. Lotso carbs and fat. Before I even put it in the oven I consulted my Tracker on Sparkpeople to see what the damage would be. Well. If I eat the entire pie, I'll still be under 1500 calories for the day, but I feel guilty and I haven't even eaten it yet.
I loaded more veggies on the pizza for extra goodness and as it was baking up crisp and yummy in the oven, I popped in Coach Nicole's 28 Day Boot Camp DVD and began Day 3.
I cut the pizza in half and ate it, slowly, enjoying it, tasting it. After a fairly routine week of meals and very little bread over the past 3 months, it was an awesome change. I'm not going to lie, it was very tasty. Now, I've witnessed my thin, athletic, track star son stop eating mid mouthful because he was full and you know what? I was starting to feel full myself! I drank a cup of water and pushed the plate away. I did manage to eat another bit, but then I got up and tossed the rest of the pizza out. I can't EVER remember that happening.
I think the Sparkpeople Doppelganger is taking over me. As soon as I'm done writing this blog I'm going to finish my workout and perhaps work out some more. No setback for me. I'm still under my calories for the day and haven't gone over ANYTHING!!! I'm starting to like this. The Doppelganger is the thin, fit and healthy me that I'm only just starting to see!
