I've been thinking again about my goals. One of my goals is to be able to walk into a store and buy clothes. Yesterday I went shopping for workout clothes. Mens medium fit in this one brand but women's XL didn't fit. I tried on a lot of stuff that really didn't fit. It was pretty frustrating. I'll always have a problem because I'm tall but I would LOVE to see some cute clothes and at least be able to put them on even if they aren't long enough. I'd love to be able to go into Victoria's Secret and buy clothes.

I want to look in the mirror and like what I see. Like Becca's awesome before and after pictures I see the difference in myself. I haven't dropped that many pounds (13 since April) but I definitely look in the mirror and see a difference. I really like how my body is slowly gaining muscles and I can count on it to do more things and I know that I can push it!

I want to enjoy food. Crazy goal for weight loss? Maybe but I do love food. I want to continue to love food. I just need to learn how to not abuse it, not to use it as a crutch, not to overindulge.

I got a run in this morning. I just don't know what to do about my speed. I went a wee bit further than usual. 5 min walk warmup - 10 min run - 2 min walk - 10 min run - 5 min walk - 5 min run - walk to finish. Thats 3 miles in about 40 min still. I must run really slow? I'd love to be able to go to sparkpeople and say I did a 12 min/mile jog (which I believe is the lowest catagory before you have to say you walk) that would be 36 min and I can't see cutting those 4 min off now. Ah well, I am pretty sure I am running more than I was really following the c25k program in the begning. Less than 2 weeks to race day!

Week 5 Run 2 - 6:45pm 8/9/06 - about 2.5 40 min
I didn't get my run in this morning beacuse the kids were up a lot at night and it was raining when I finally did make it out of bed. I managed to get out after DH got home from work though. My kneed doesn't hurt when I run, only after. I'm a little concerned that I should stop running but I keep thinking another 5 weeks won't do that much damage. I'd hate to not get my race in. I think after my race I'll have to switch to bike riding and see if that takes some of the strain off of it. My MP3 player ran out of juice about half way through the run and I thought that would slow me down but I went really close to the same distance on my second run walk as then next walk run.

Week 5 Run 1 - 6:20 am 8/7/06 - 3 mi -45 min
Run 5 min - Walk 3 min - Run 5 min - Walk 3 min - Run 5 min
I'm having fun seeing how much further I am actually going when I run more. I cover the same 3 miles but the amount of walking at the end varries by how far I've gone. I think I could be happy if I did my 5k 5 min running and 3 min walking for the whole race, but I'm excited to keep going. My knees are feeling the worse for the wear even in my 5 week old shoes. I see the doctor tomorrow for a physical so I'm going to ask her about my knees. The mp3 player and music definitely helps me get moving but I don't spend as much time thinking because I'm more busy listening to the music and just moving.

My 5k is Sept 10. That is 5 weeks from yesterday.
