Recommiting to myself

Sunday, May 12, 2013

I have decided to recommit to myself and to my health. I am worth this and I deserve better! Ate within range today but WAY overdid it with my diet coke. I am not willing to give that up at this point while I am still getting back on track. I am also going to do the Couch 2 5k program again. I know I can do it and there is no pressure and I feel like that will help me get back on the running bandwagon. If I want I can do the running part twice if I want it to take over 30 minutes but that is a choice I can make when I am out there. I'm so excited to have one good day at least in 2013.

Good for you! Focusing on just one day at a time, will help you get this done.

Need to get in gear

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

I've been trying to get in gear for awhile now but am having quite a bit of trouble. Well, I have a new deadline. I work from home but we do have a local office that I was based in until I was the only one left on my project. They then let me work from home full time. Whenever we have visitors or sales folks in they ask us to come in to keep the office looking full and talk about our positions.

They want me in the office the end of April. I always like to show off how well I've been doing and go in wearing smaller and smaller clothes. I'm not sure at all that I can do that this time. I don't want to be sitting there with my belly hanging over my pants. I really need to kick it in gear but am still. Blech.... Can someone kick me in the butt....

Here's an option: if you don't wear any pants, your belly can't hang over them. Think about it...

April Goals

Monday, April 01, 2013

I have been kinda MIA for awhile now and honestly it was because I was sucking. It is tough to be supportive and offer advice when I am doing horribly. Sorry I haven't been a great spark friend lately!

But, it is warming up and I am able to run outside again so hopefully we'll be doing a lot better. So, here are my April goals.

Over 1000 fitness minutes
Run 3 times a week
Progress to Chin-Up Progression 3

Need some help... and a revelation

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

So first, since I know my SparkFriends are fantastic, I get to make my own title for my part-time job with a previous employer and I am looking for something great. I used to be office manager, now I'm looking for something like "partner in awesomeness" or... yeah. I wish I had a better idea but that is why I'm asking for help.

To the revelation, I had my first kettlebell class/lesson last night and I really enjoyed it. I really did have a great time. I think I may have a hard time quitting when my deal ends but it is kinda expensive and a bit of a drive. When I get my running weather back I may be in a better mindset to quit.

This is where the revelation and self-reflection come in. I have found I have a bit a phobia in new situations. I had driven 30 minutes out there and walked up to the door and it was locked. As I sat in my car waiting for them to open the door I was ready to run.... The new place and being out of place was so crazy scary to me. I wish I had something insightful to add here, but I think it was an interesting reaction.

The first time I went to pilates I had the same reaction. Wasn't sure how I'd do in a group setting. I sat outside until the class started and snuck in the back. When I was done I loved it and was wondering what I was so anxious about.

I hear ya, I don't do well in new situations. My anxiety goes off the charts! I just have to take a calm breath and smile. "fake it til you make it" is my motto. I will pretend I'm the most confident person in the world and just act like it. I spend so much time trying to be all awesome, I forget about my anxiety completely.

I have had similar reactions to situations that are new to me also--which is strange because I'm not a shy person.

Turning around a downward spiral

Friday, March 15, 2013

I have been on a downward spiral when it comes to my eating and fitness these last few months and it is time to turn it around. So, in order to turn it around, I'm going to make good choices. I know, it is a crazy idea. To be successful you make better choices.... I swear I've read that before so I'm not surprised why it took me until now to realize it.

Once I figure out how to make my suspension trainer shorter I will begin on my pull up training! Look - here is the new set-up.

So excited to be back on track.

YAY! You can do it! :-)

I've never been able to do a pull up. How do you train to do something like that?
