I am feeling very motivated right now!

Friday, June 07, 2013

I am so happy that i have a workout buddy to go to the gym with! I have never been more motivated to stay on track and get healthy. I have been going to the gym 3 days a week to do cardio and usually i do 2 other days at home of yoga or resistance bands workout. I am thinking about going those 2 days to the gym now and lifting weights. I am a little leary because of my back problems but as long as i am careful i think that I will be fine. I am just feeling so good right now and I have been tracking daily and earning my spark points. I am just so grateful to have such wonderful support here on sparkpeople! Today and tomorrow I will also be doing alot of yard work so that will burn up some more calories as well. I love summer because i can get outside and enjoy the sunshine while doing what i love! emoticon emoticon

As my friend put it: Put on the brakes!!

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I have been doing so good for the last 5 months and recently, in the last few days, i have been eating awful and over eating. I knew it every time i went to take a bite of something but i couldn't stop. So from now on I will just say no and if i am truly hungry i will grab some peanuts or something. I am so grateful to have found a workout buddy that holds me accountable and that i don't want to let down! So as of this moment i am back on track! No excuses for me now emoticon

Julia--you are wonderful workout buddy and I am so happy we are able to support eachother. I am so glad to see you on the days we are the Y together. Seems like this eating thing was happening everywhere. We can get back on track. emoticon

Have a great day.

You can do it. You recognized it happening, and that is important.

is there a way to reset my nutrition goals to what spark says i need?

Monday, April 01, 2013

I had changed my nutrition goals and I am trying to figure out if there is a way to reset it back to what spark has suggested. Does anyone know how to do that? I was doing 1200 calories a day, but i just can't make it on that. I was constantly hungry and had headaches. If you know please let me know. Thank you!

Hi. I agree with you 1200 doesn't do it for me either. You can go to your Start Page (or My Trackers, Start) and then look down to the box that says the number of calories you have left for today. Click on the change goals link and you should be set. I set mine from 1200 to 1350 rather than the 1200 to 1550 that Sparkpeople recommended.

Good luck!

time to renew my promise to myself

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Well i was doing great for about a month with my tracking and eating, until recently. I have slacked back into bad eating habits for the last week and a half or so. I have to stop doing that, vacation is not an excuse to eat whatever I want. I need to get my but back into gear. I have lost 6 lbs and that should be motivation enough to stay on track. I have recently found someone who lives by me and I am hoping we can buddy up and make a connection which will keep me accountable for what i do. Each morning I wake i need to remember that it is a new day to make a healthy life for myself. I need to get to the YMCA that I have a membership to and use it!! I am excited, i turned 34 today and I am excited to get back on this journey to a healthier me. I am not getting younger and it is challenging to change your lifestyle but i am determined to do this!! emoticon

You can do it. Yes 6 lbs will turn into 12 and so on, that'll really motivate you. Have fun with your new buddy and Happy Birthday. emoticon

so i made it to another day, not starving as bad today

Friday, January 18, 2013

Well i think my stomach is starting to get back on track with my new calorie restrictions but it is still growling loudly at me. Someone suggested eating some carbs with protein for snacks , i think that is what i will try. I know i will get past this, but it has been a hard two weeks. All of m y wonderful friends here continue to encourage me and give me support and that is extremely helpful! i am going to blow up my pilates ball today and start doing things while watching tv and also bring out my hand weight so i have no excuses not to exercise even if i am watching a show. I can't wait for the warm weather so i can go and walk outside. My fiance is supportive in my journey, but he has no intentions in changing how he eats even though he is overweight, but i will continue on my journey. I wish he would jump on board, but what am i going to do, at least he is supporting me! emoticon emoticon

i think i just have to get used to it. I definitely have to snack. I have been eating alot more protein lately and i think that helps. Does eating more often raise your metabolism? well anyhow, he is eating healthier but the portions are always too large. i can't make him do it but he should. Thank you both!

I've been eating small portions frequently. It helps most days, but this first couple of weeks has been a big adjustment. Cutting back to my calorie range has been a challenge. I try to choose foods that have the most bang and fullness factor for the calorie buck! Drinking water in between eating has helped a lot too.

If you are the cook, your fiance will benefit without even trying. My husband usually fights me over his right to have what he wants to eat, but he is starting to really enjoy the meals I make. I've been trying out the recipes in here with great success.

You may already do this, but eating every 2-3 hours (either 5 small meals, or 3 meals and 2 snacks) really helps with the hunger.

Good luck!
