Weather and Library

As much rain as we had the last few days, I am surprised we have not had ice on the streets. I worry about slipping and falling. So I am praying for a decent winter. I would rather have snow than ice.

I have also decided, WHEN THE TIME COMES, to get one of those Leaf (?) antennas instead of basic cable, and just get Internet by fall of next year. I think. By then my poor computer will probably die on me. It does get a work out with all the movies I do watch on it and music I play.

No matter what, by next summer, my apartment should be done. WASTE NOT WANT NOT. If I do not need it, it isn't in house at this time.

    I am hoping we have a snowy but not harsh winter. You have a plan and that is great. I know you will get all settled in with in the year. You waited so long fo just get the new place to live and here you are. Good for you.

Holiday

Our library is closed tomorrow and Thanksgiving Day. I wish all of you my love, and hope you all get to see your families for the holiday. REMEMBER TO ENJOY ALL THE FIXINGS OF YOUR THANKSGIVING TURKEY . WE DO NOT COUNT CALORIES FOR THIS DAY. hahaha Love

    Hope you had a good day and enjoyed the parade with your friend. I really think that not counting the calories on Thanksgiving is a good idea. I hope to watch the size of the servings on my plate. (Do you think we should have to count the left overs???? )

Determination

It has been a long time in coming, but finally I am down from a 2 liter bottle of diet coke a day to 1 glass.

I never thought I would say that. But I am drinking a lot of water, cranberry juice, and 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day. I think anything is better than soda.

No bread in the house. No lunch meat in fridge. These were my downfalls.

Trying to do right by myself, and to get to losing weight again.

    Proud of you. You can do this. With the walking and not drinking all that sugar you should feel better. Also you might feel a little bad with the caffeine withdrawal. Coke is a straight shot of caffeine as well as sugar. Keep up the good job. emoticon

    I made the move to 100% juice - namely apple juice&cranberry, and putting lime/lemon in my water once in a while. I've found having at least 8oz (think coffee mug) an hour I'm awake helps me maintain proper hydration for me. Of course we need more than that, but... Adding a touch of juice into the water tricks the body to not send it immediately to the bladder once a certain amount of plain water has been consumed. At least that's what they told me in pre-diabetes class at the VA hospital.
