starting slow

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Since I still dont feel so good I am getting my workouts back on track slowly. I am doing 10 minute sessions throughout the day. It is hard to do the 10 minutes. But I think it will be ok.

At least I am thinking about it and trying to do a little.

I hope everyone is well. Love Joyce

Getting better

Monday, January 23, 2012

After a couple of days of antibiotics, I am starting to feel a bit better. I slept for a good while today, more than in the last week (at one time). I am coughing less too. Thanks for the support during this time. I hope by next Monday I can start working out again. I haven't really gained or lost any weight, so good there I guess.

I hope everyone is well and making progress towards their goals. Love Joyce

Now I know...

Friday, January 20, 2012

I know why I am not getting well. I finally broke down and went to hospital cause I started having trouble breathing.

I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection (which needs antibiotics) and all the drainage caused bronchitis too. Hence the breathing issues.

I got home from the hospital around 11 pm and started on the antibiotics. I also had a breathing treatment at the hospital and I got an inhaler to bring home to use incase the breathing issue flares up again. I guess all the drainage from the ear infection is what is keeping me from getting well. I havent been able to hear out of my left side for about a week. I think the flu is over but the ear infection is the current culprit. I guess we will see in a few days. If I don't improve by Monday, I guess I am gonna have to go back and see the Doc again.

After nine days of this I am ready to get well! Love to all Joyce

I gotta go lay down,

It's always better to know what you are dealing with. At least now you can treat it, and you can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hugs,
Claude

I am glad you got it checked out. I was starting to get worried about you. That is such a long time to feel awful. Bronchitis by itself is terrible with an ear infection has to be unbearable.

Many hugs to you! I hope you are better soon with the antibiotics fighting the bug.

Still fighting it.

Friday, January 20, 2012

Here is is 10 days after the symptoms started full force and I am still pretty sick. I can see (feel) the light at the end of the tunnel though. I am still coughing alot, and my throat is very sore, but I think it has slowed down a little. The fevers are less frequent and I have been falling asleep more. (Although still in a chair) Thank goodness for recliners!

It hurts to swallow, but I seem to be eating ok. Just want to drink mostly though. I have been drinking sierra mist, lemon water, regular water, chicken broth. Warm stuff seems to help sometimes.

I sure hope I can be over this thing before the end of the month. I need to get some time in. I can't remember the last time I didn't turn any time in. It was probably 26 years ago when I almost died with my gallbladder. I don't want to be irregular just because of one bad illness. Well, all I can do is pray about it and hope for the best. I couldn't even do any telephone stuff cause of the coughing, and I am way too tired to write letters. Maybe next weekend will see the end of this and I can at least make some calls. Time will tell.

I hope everyone is well. Love Joyce

i AM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR BEING ILL. I SUFFER FROM NUMEROUS ILLNESSES THAT LIMIT MY SERVICE TIME...BUT I HAVE SOME WONDERFUL BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO DO SERVICE WHEN I AM ABLE TO GET OUT,THEY KEEP AN EYE ON ME AND IF I GET TO THE POINT WHERE ITS HARD FOR ME WE ADAPT AND I TAKE OVER WITH THE MAP AND SHEET (AT HOME ) SO I AM STILL ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. JEHOVAH PROVIDES FOR US ALL.

I'm sure if you alert the car group to how you are doing, they will do all they can to make the service doable for you the day you go. Still 11 days to the month..you have time yet. You sure don't want to become inactive: one missed month takes six months to get you back on the active list! Sure hope you feel better really soon.

So sorry you are still struggling with this. As for your time, could you write letters to anyone? Maybe some calls you weren't able to make this month, letting them know you're thinking of them and sharing some scriptures?

Me vs Coughing - who will win?

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

I have literally been coughing my head off for over three days now. I have had to sleep in a chair for the last three days because every time I lay down I start coughing so hard that I can't hardly stop. I am coughing up stuff. (YUCKY!!) I have to take niquil capsules every six hours to keep from hurting and coughing so much. I am also using cough drops, and chicken broth, and hot lemon and honey water. I don't remember being this sick for a long time. Wednesday makes a full week of being sick, but the last 3-4 days have been the worst. I hope none of you are sick. I pray for everyone that is sick. Sometimes it feels like I am never gonna get well again. But I know I will, so don't worry, its just me whining (lol). It is 2 am and I cant sleep...every time I close my eyes, cough, cough, cough. But I think it is starting to ease up a bit. I feel like my gut has been used as a punching bag, (real sore) and my throat hurts from all the strain. Larengitis is a little better, but it still hurts to talk.

Well, I think I am done complaining. Hope you are all well. I really miss my workouts, but I know at the moment I don't dare push myself that way. (It's weird that I miss my workouts! LOL I never thought I'd hear myself say that! ha ha).

Love to all...Joyce

niquil seems to help the most but I tried some Tussin DM, it didn't go down so well. I coughed for an hour after taking it (bad). It has an expctorant in it. I guess I probably need to cough out the stuff though. I think the honey lemon hot water helps soothe my throat. And sleeping in the recliner (half sitting/half laying) helps some. I hope anyone who catches this thing doesn't suffer so much. I will be glad when I can sleep in my bed again.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I hope you are all well or at least getting there.
Love to all again, Joyce

SO sorry to hear you are struggling so. That coughing stuff is awful. DH has not cleared up after his bout and he is coughing up stuff, too. I wondered if he may have had pneumonia. I coughed like crazy for several days (a week?). Then it all stopped...but now I am occasionally coughing and coughing up stuff, too. That makes me wonder if we ever got well! Sure didn't have it to the degree you do, though. Have you tried VICKS on your chest? Nyquil doesn't have a decongestant any more.

Sure hope you feel better soon. Thinking of you...sending emoticon
