I haven't been able to keep up with all my spark stuff this week. Went to my mom's house for the weekend and brought the grandkids and my son home with me for a week. We have been swimming though and I have done a few of my workouts. Logging my food has been a bust though. Eating alot of stuff I don't normally eat. Since there are more people here I have had to buy a little different than normal.
But I am not slacking much. Keeping in mind my goals, but my routine is all out of whack. I will be taking them home Saturday and then I will be getting my routine back to normal. I have done my best not to slack on the exercise.
I love having the kids here, it is alot of fun, but alot of work too, and I am feeling tired.

I finally got a Spark Cookbook and the book The Spark. I have already started reading the cookbook and look forward to learning how to make better, healthy food, in more variety. I really want to learn to make my own chicken and veggie stock for soups and stews. The cookbook is very interesting so far. They explain how it came to be and taste tests, etc.
I haven't had time to start reading the Spark book yet, but I will soon. I was reading to my husband in the cookbook already and making lists of things I will need. When I finally do make some stuff, I will let you all know how it turned out.
My daughter uses the spark website to find recipes too. I found that YouTube is a great place to learn a few things too. After my fiasco with the mango, I checked out YouTube to learn how to cut a mango. I had never tried mango before....so when I got one....well....it was like a comedy show...."How not to cut a mango"...LOL. I made the mistake of peeling it first, and, well, if any of you have had mango.....you know what a mistake that was! HAHAHA
It was slipping all over the place....I was trying to get the fruit off from around the pit...and....oh well...I managed to get some of it. HAHAHA Now, I know not to peel it first! I could have my own comedy cooking show. I haven't ever been what I would call great in the kitchen. I prefer one pan meals (ya know?). Just throw everything in a pan and stick it in the oven. But I am determined to use my new cookbook and learn some new dishes.
Well, I hope everyone is having a great day. They finally opened our pool at the apartment....so that is my plan for when hubby gets home from work. We are gonna take a swim before dinner.

Yes, pita pockets. I discovered recently how much I love them. I take a serving of meat (turkey, ham, chicken, etc) melt on a serving of cheese (colby, montery jack, swiss, etc) stuff it in and throw in a mixed table spoon or two of peppers (red, green, yellow, orange...all chopped in together...very pretty) and one teaspoon of Kraft Mayo made with olive oil...and you have the best tasting sandwich in the world! LOL! Add a generous helping of cucumber and cherry tomatoes on the side and you have a delicious meal for under 300 calories! That was my breakfast this am. Oh, and of coarse a cup of herbal tea!
What are some of your favorite meals? I would like to know. Maybe it can become one of my favorite meals too. :)

Well, we are up early. Got up at 6:15 or so. Wanted to workout and have breakfast before my bath for service. We have to leave in about an hour and it takes me that long to get ready. LOL I am drinking my after breakfast tea while I catch up on my logging and blog.
We went to a movie yesterday and took our own snacks. A bottle of tea and some pretzels and a skinny cow candy bar. 400 calories total. I counted it as a meal and didn't do any damage to my calorie count. Yeah!
I read an article about how coconut oil can help energize your thyroid so I am trying it. I started with my dinner last night. I am going to add one to my vitamans each meal and then wait a week, then start taking two with each meal. I hope it solves the problem I am having with my weight loss. I have been working out EVERY morning for a month and logging 99% of my food, but still not seeing the loss I would expect. I had a thyroid test about a year and 1/2 ago and the doc said it wasn't quite normal. I am glad I read the article so I could try the coconut oil. I'd rather not take meds if I dont have too. We are going to give it a little time to work before re-testing. Since your thyroid controls metabolism, it could be the reason I am having so much trouble seeing any good losses. It has taken me since September, 2011 just to lose 25 pounds. (Granted, I had a few setbacks with the fall last winter, and the flu in January and February) I hope I start seeing more progress.

Today is our 26th anniversary. DH and I are going to study and go to meeting. That is our plan. Tomorrow is play day.
I wanted to thank everyone who reads my blogs and encourages me. And thanks to the friends who told me happy anniversary.
I am getting ready to do my workout so I can eat a very late breakfast. LOL We slept in today, was up too late last night goofing around and watching a tv show we like on netflix. ha haha Dont get to do much of that anymore.
