So much for weight loss.....I'm pregnant!!!

Friday, August 17, 2012

So I started on this weight-loss journey again, and was feeling so extremely motivated to finally get this extra weight off (an awful lot of it, too!) only to find out that I am 6.2 weeks pregnant!!!!!! I can't believe it! I am grateful to have already started on a path of heallthier eating, and feel like it will help me get through this pregnancy in the safest, healthiest way possible. Here's to never knowing what's gonna happen next! Life is good.

Awesome, don't worry about the baby weight. If you are taking care of yourself now, you won't gain much excess weight. Congrats!

    Congratulations! emoticon

Okay, so while your pregnant your weight may not go down but you can still exercise and eat healthy and after you deliver, you may get a nice surprise when you get on the scale...(that is after the water weight leaves). Plus your little surprise will be much healthier for you effort!

Day 2 - More recipes and Goal Charts!

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Another successful day. Not feeling deprived or hungry with the food choices I am making - exciting meals, and foods that keep me full and energized!

Tried another salad from the SparkPeople Cookbook tonight! Was the crunchy chicken salad, however I made it as a side with just the romaine, granny smith apple, celery, graped and dressing without the poppy seeds since I had none! Came out delicious as a side to turkey burgers. Yum!

Also, tonight I took a huge bristol board poster, and made a huge chart from today until my 25th birthday, which will be August 10th 2013. The chart gives me a weekly goal of 1.5 pounds on average to aim for every week until that birthday. If I maintain and overall average of 1.5 pounds per week throughout the next 54 weeks, I will be at 175 pounds (down 81 pounds from my current 256, and down 105 from my heighest weight which was 280)!

Feeling good!

I just discovered ground turkey and turkey burgers recently, pretty good!

1.5lbs seems very reasonable, just keep in mind that some weeks you won't see a loss, but don't get discouraged, the weight will come off with perseverance!

Day 1

Monday, July 30, 2012

Day 1 has been a success!

I have joined SparkPeople a few times, and have always enjoyed it, but life seems to always get in the way, and I have fallen off the wagon more than I can say.

However, this time I am back in full force, with all the support and tools that I can ever need!

To start off my new changes, I bought the SparkPeople CookBook and have already tried two recipes! Last night I cooked two whole chickens using the Lemon Herb-Roasted Chicken on page 184. Delicious! And having made two chickens will allow us to use this amazing meat for so many different meals throughout the week!

Today for supper, I also tried the Baby Spinach Salad with Strawberries and Toasted Almonds from page 111. With a couple of adjustments for the ingredients that I was lacking, I finished with a beautiful spinach, strawberry, almond and light feta salad with balsamic salad dressing as a side to italian turkey sausage and a couple of mini potatoes topped with sour cream!

So inspiring to have started off my journey this way!

Here are some pictures of the lovely meals I have made:
