Only 3 days left!! Yikkes!

My Goals and Update!

Fitness - Continue to run 3x a week for atleast 30 minutes

Motivation - Organize my room/clothes and get rid of the clothes I won't wear anymore / Chalene 30 Day Challenge with Sparkgirl32

Nutrition - Overindulged on the smores tonight. Not a good call but I replace dinner with them. Ha. I will not beat myself, just eat healthy tomorrow and kill it at the gym ;)
Fitness - Today was a busy day from the moment I woke up! So I will get a good run in tomorrow...I didn't do any "formal exercise" today.
Motivation - keeping up with Chalene Challenge and I am failing on the cleaning. Maybe I am waiting to get out of school? Who knows.

Challenge #14 Description: I canít believe it, but this is the second to last challenge of this first 30 Day Extreme Push Challenge! Itís time to start thinking about what you are going to do after this challenge is over. Are you going to start over? If so, what are your goals going to be for the next one? If you arenít, how are you going to ensure you make your future goals?

Challenge #14 Answer: I have been thinking about my goals for the next challenge and I think my motivation/organization might stay the same..haha. As for eating healthy on weekend and staying accountable for water, that works out well for me. I should maybe make it something about eating out at restaurants, like only allow myself a few times next challenge. I think it will help me stay in my range on the weekends. As for fitness, the running is great and I incorporate it into my workouts/gym days. Whether it be an interval run on the treadmill or at the trail, my neighborhood, etc . I like to to do it now and know it is important and key in my weightloss journey. However, I would like to start J Michael's Ripped in 30 days. Alot of people rave about her workouts and I figure I should give it a try.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 27 Description:
Your mind controls everything. Your brain tells you what to expect. And your expectations dictate the outcome. Along the road of life, you'll encounter many obstacles. These include unexpected events and challenges as well as our own self-sabotage. There are distractions that can ultimately keep you from reaching your goals, if you're not careful. That's why you need to focus your attention on the positive outcome of reaching your goals.

When you direct your attention towards good, good will come of it. If you believe that positive experiences and opportunities will come into your life, they will! A lot of this is attitude and a lot of it is drawing your focus towards opportunity and not hazard. Further those of us who have learned to look for the good can see possibilities alongside the roadblocks. Yes, with life comes challenge. There will be unexpected turns in the road. But when you've directed your mind towards possibilities they will be evident to you even alongside disappointment.

With love comes more love. With hope, opportunity multiplies. Think about your goals, feel the pleasure of reaching them. Alert your mind to the good in all of us. Believe and dream and fantasize about the future.

Sometimes we're overwhelmed with life to a point that we can't redirect ourselves. Sometimes past traumas or ingrained habits, anxiety or depression can keep us from being able to focus on a hopeful future. If you find yourself in this position, I strongly advise you to get the help you need to overcome these conditions. Sometimes you need a trained professional to help you see beyond your patterns of belief.

And you know what? That's okay. It's actually pretty exciting. The work you do to change your mind and to find comfort and excitement again is some of the most important work you will ever do.

Regardless of where you are on your path, imagine the best and focus on the rewards of achieving your goals.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 27 Answer: I think in order to reach my PUSH goal and get down to my goal weight/ not gain my weight back I need to make it a point to exercise on the weekends NO MATTER WHAT and stop being such a procrastinator. Also, I sometimes sabotage myself by eating out or taking bites of ice cream I do not need. =) Therefore, I am going to stay true to myself and stay within my calorie range and keep up with exercising daily.

*One Positive thing I did today: Had my niece playing outside/ran around with her this morning when we woke up instead of turning on NickJr and sitting my butt on the couch!

* One thing I am grateful for: Spur of the moment get togethers. We had a fire tonight and the kids all played, it was soo much fun =)

GOODNIGHT Sparkies, it has been a loooong day! xoxo I hope you had a great weekend!

great goals! :D:D Just a suggestion, when you do your 'eating out' part make sure you allow yourself to. :) That is what I did with the first 30 days. It was to downgrade from a large tea at caribou coffee to a medium. So I allowed myself to have it. Not only did I downgrade and was satisfied (which was my goal) I haven't had the desire to have one. I haven't had one in like a month! It is really important to treat yourself :) I just thought I would share that! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 26 Description: We're getting close to the end of the thirty days and there are a few more things I want to squeeze in.

I want you to have all the tools you need to make this work for you not for a month, but forever. Remember to repeat and re-read and to ask for support from friends.
At the very beginning of the challenge I asked you to think of your priorities. I didn't want to confuse you Ė but I want you to look at them one more time.

Priorities are the things in your life that you will not compromise. They are your driving force. Priorities are the basis for your goals. Priorities are the way we choose to live our lives.

So? What are values? Values are the things that are so much a part of who we are that we don't even have to think about them. I don't have fitness as a priority because, of course I am going to exercise and eat well. That's who I am. I don't need to work on that. It's something I do because it's integral to me. Our spirituality may be so much a part of our everyday experience that we don't even need to state that it's a priority. Values are like breathing. They just come naturally. You've integrated your values into your life so fully that you don't even need to state them as priorities.

Priorities will change. As you go through life changes, your priorities will shift. We live in stages. I am at a stage of life where I have kids at home. Spending time with them and being engaged in their lives is a priority to me. When they are grown, I am still going to love them. I am still going to want to be close to them. But, my priorities may shift. They aren't going to want me actively engaged with them in their college dormitories. (Pity!) Before I had children, my priorities were different. As I plan for retirement, they will shift again. As life brings changes, my priorities will adapt.

Priorities change but values will remain fairly constant.

For the purpose of this challenge, priorities are the stars by which we set our goals. We need to be sure that goals align with both priorities and values. But, it's unlikely you would even think of a goal that would not work with your values. That's how ingrained they are!

Think about your priorities and be sure that they are relevant to the stage of life you are in now.

Ask yourself with your push goal, how will you know and give it a measure.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 26 Answer: My push goal is to eat healthy and fit in exercise as much as possible (usually daily or every 2 days). I will be able to measure it by seeing if I gain this weight back or not. LOL. And that is a big NO bc I will continue to track !

*One positive thing I did today: Treated myself to a spa day. I NEVER do all that in the same day. (Mani/Pedi/1 hr massage) It was soooo nice and relaxing!

*One thing I am grateful for: Having a summer job. Met with the families again and they are just great people!

Mini Challenge #13 Description: Todayís challenge is going to be about limiting beliefs. Can you pick out any limiting beliefs that you have in your life that are severely holding you back? REALLY think about it, because a lot of times we view these beliefs as the truth. Is there something you have been told by family members or others that you realize you have believed that may not be true?

What do you think are the effects of these limiting beliefs? What about for anyone? What are you going to do to make sure you are aware when you are beginning to feel down on yourself? How are you going to make yourself more aware of your limiting beliefs?

Mini Challenge #13 Answer: I believe being an overweight child has alot to do with my weightloss journey now...years later. Sometimes I still see that 'fat girl' in the mirror and wonder if that feeling will ever go away?! I mean, I know I will never be thin or skinny and I am okay with that. But when I was younger I was always like 'why me?'. So I think I can be my own worst enemy at times when I have these negative thoughts and it does limit what I believe. I can remember my grandma calling me chubby allllll the time when I was younger. And although she probably did it for my own well being (so I would lose weight then) I used to get soooo mad!!! I can remember starting to dislike her so much, I didn't even want her to come over on Sundays anymore because I hate being ridiculed by her. Like, she is my grandma, isn't she supposed to be nice and loving? And she was not even a mean woman, it was only when she addressed her concern for my weight would I get upset.

When I feel upset or down on myself I am going to think of how far I have come from being that chubby little kid. It satisfies me knowing I am the only female (out of my mom and sister) in my family that goes to a gym and watches what I eat and has the will power and determination to get fit and lose weight. So I may have been a chubby kid but I am definitely the most healthy as an adult.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 25 Description: Celebrate your success! Itís time to establish some rewards for yourself (HEY! We already did this challenge! Haha, just kidding).

Don't forget to factor in time for fun! One of the reasons for creating a life that is meaningful and productive is so that you might enjoy it. You may not have achieved all your goals, yet. But you're making stellar progress. Celebrate now. Be enchanted with yourself!
At the beginning, so many of us were afraid to ask for much. Maybe we didn't want to be greedy. Perhaps we didn't want to disappoint ourselves again. But, I think you're realizing the possibilities. I hope you're letting your dreams expand. Believe in yourself. Believe in the possibilities, because they were there all along. You always had what it takes. You just didn't have the tools to focus your attention in order to achieve the things you wished for.
We live complicated lives. We are often disappointed, we suffer pain as life plays on and then we stop wishing. And we stop believing.

I hope that the past 25 days has reminded you to hope. I hope that this challenge has given you the tools to instigate and sustain change. And most of all, I hope that it has reminded you to believe in yourself. You have the power to create the rest of your life. There are things that no one can take away from you. And those are the things we're focused on here.

Believe. Hope and aspire.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 25 Answer: I definitely like this challenge. It is important to reward yourself for the hard work you have done and to me getting thinner and losing weight is a reward on it's own! Don't get me wrong, I do occassionally buy myself new clothes or shoes but nothing feels as good as being 44 lbs less. I repeat nothing. =) I have realized in the past 25 days that sometimes I need to put myself first and do what I need to to help me get one step closer to my goal. If it means extra time being put in at the gym and that time being taken from something else, then that is what I have to do. I am going to hope that I keep up this healthy lifestyle and continue to exercise and be able to enjoy things that I love!

Proudest accomplishment since beginning this challenge: Consistency. I thought blogging every day was a bit of a commitment at first but it really does not take that long. I am proud of myself that I do this challenge before bed every night (it has become part of my routine haha) and have not given up!

Way Iím going to reward myself: Continue with another challenge, hopefully the EPC2!

*Positive thing I did today: Stayed within calorie range even with going out for a 5 hour happy hour =)

*One thing I am grateful for: Amazing co-workers. =) I have so much fun with them at work as well as outside of work.

emoticon job staying in range even with going to happy hour!!!! Hopefully I can do that today!
And i can totally relate with you on a family member calling me fat and looking in the mirror and wondering if that feeling will ever go away. The bad thing is I was actually only 120 lbs when my mom and her friends would tell me I was "too fat". Not good to be telling a teenage girl this! So whenever my mom actually compliments me now I'm like "OMG, she must really notice a difference then."
Keep up the great work :]

Sorry Sparkies, I am a day late! So I am trying to catch up! =) I can't believe less than a week is left! I am excited to start my next challenge which will probably be another EPC (Extreme Push Challenge)!

My Goals & Update

My Goals and Update!

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 24 Description: Learning to utilize time well is a challenge.

Weíre all so enthusiastic for life, we want to do everything!

The way you spend your time should reflect your priorities. If your time and energy are out of balance with your priorities there are many ways to adjust.
Many things that we do are far less necessary than we think. This challenge isnít about being busy itís about optimizing results that are meaningful to you!
What are some of your biggest time wasters?

Do you watch television at the time it was programmed? If you record shows, do you realize you can save up to 20 minutes per programmed hour by eliminating the commercials? Recording your favorite show also has the added benefit of keeping you from channel surfing. Sit down with a purpose, watch the program and get back to work!

The same is true with the computer. Just because youíre sitting at the desk doesnít mean youíre doing something important. I know you were just on Facebook or watching a viral video. No matter how cute those pandas are, isnít there something you could be checking off your To-do list?

Use your time wisely. Your car can become your mobile university by listening to audio programs while you drive. You can even listen while you fold laundry.

Think about your time and consider ways you can invest it in yourself and your family and towards making progress towards your goals.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 24 Answer: I know I waste alot of time on the computer haha....I definitely need to stop! Actually, lately I have been more occupied with working out and I get home too late to waste time on the computer. Although there are nights I kill 45 min on the internet when I KNOW I should be sleeping :/ I am going to try to stop this poor habit and limit my computer time at night.

One positive thing I did today: Did alot of strength training and an abs class before my run ;) I hope it help make up for my poor eating the night before

One thing thing I'm grateful for: Tomorrow is Friday ;)

DaY 23 of 30 Day Extreme Push Challenge

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Well, today was not such a stellar day for me! I did damage at dinner time but instead of beating myself up over it, I am going to take it as a learning experience and be extra healthy tomorrow. I drank alot of water with the food but I can't put myself in a place where unlimited food is available. BLAHHH.

My Goals and Update!

Nutrition - Stay in my calorie range on the weekends / drink atleast 10 cups of water on weekends

Fitness - Continue to run 3x a week for atleast 30 minutes

Motivation - Organize my room/clothes and get rid of the clothes I won't wear anymore / Chalene 30 Day Challenge with Sparkgirl32

*UPDATES*

Nutrition - Not a weekend, but splurged at dinner time. NO BUENO! I will be back on track tomorrow!
Fitness - Ran today...did intervals on the treadmill again, SWEAT CITY! Love it!
Motivation - keeping up with Chalene Challenge and I really need to stop putting off this cleaning nonsense (No really, I am going to clean this weekend!)

Challenge #12 Description: Today's challenge is about being a leader and is actually inspired by one of you guys!

Now for some questions: do you run into instances where you are waiting for someone to lead you instead of taking charge yourself? It doesn't matter what it has to do with, even though I used being healthy as an example. How often do you think this happens and why do you think this is? Do you wait for others to start planning things? Does this sometimes result in things not getting done at all? How would your life be different if you did take charge and lead by example? How do you think you would feel if you started to take charge and call the shots? What specific things do you think you would be able to accomplish?

If you are someone who has all of this down (we can always be improving!)... do you consider yourself a natural leader? What do you like about being a natural leader? What do you think makes you a leader? What do you think you could do to become a better leader?

Challenge #12 Answer: I would consider myself a leader for the most part. I am very strong minded and for the most part stick to what I believe in. ( I would also consider myself a control freak..ha) I like to be prepared and organized in most situations and can be a self-starter with enough motivation. (Hence my weightloss journey.) Don't get me wrong I also like to work with others because well let's face it, two minds are better than one :) I think I possess strong leadership qualities in all areas of my life; friends, family, work, school, etc.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 23 Description: What's it going to take to make your workspace work for you?

Realizing your dream requires both a plan and the commitment to follow-through. It also takes a little bit of simple organization. If your workspace is disorganized and cluttered, how can you keep track of what you need to do?
Carve out a designated workspace for yourself if you don't already have one. If you have an office already, consider how it might be modified to reflect your needs. If you like to be in the center of things, set up command central where people tend to congregate. If you need silence, find a corner of a bedroom and make it your own. Think about rearranging a bit if necessary.

Don't be afraid to think outside of the blueprint. Is there a dining room that you've never actually dined in? Hello, new office!

This might be a great thing to ask a supportive friend to help you with if you need a kick-start on organizing.

Spend some time setting yourself up for success by assembling a workspace that will work for you! The time you invest now in organizing will pay off exponentially in efficiency!

Enlist the help of an expert if necessary. If you need help with organizing your stuff, consider Lorie Marrero at clutterdiet.com. If you need help organizing your finances, Dave Ramsey is a great resource.

Consider your work style and learning style. And be sure your office accounts for your preferences. Whether you're running a business or managing your household, set up a place where you can focus and do your best work.

Chalene Johnsonís 30 Day Challenge, Day 23 Answer: This kind of goes along with my Motivational Goal...cleaning! HAHA! My favorite! NOT! I definitely need a kick start in organizing..my life. No, really just my room. =) I am hoping once school is out in 3 days I will no longer have an excuse and just do it!!! It has been my goal for this challenge and the hardest one yet! Grr. Once I set up downstairs (family room) I am doing to start Ripped with Jillian Michaels, along with cleaning my bedroom/putting clothes alway and organizing all the cr@p! So this challenge hits home bc I do indeed need to get on this!

One positive thing I did today: Won the Biggest Loser contest at my school!

One thing I am grateful for: Not feeling too guilty about the damage I did at dinner. I am going to be super healthy tomorrow! (And staying away from buffets!)

****

Sorry I rushed through this Sparkies, I am tired tonight! Goodnight xoxo

No need to worry about the indulgent dinner. At least the final weigh in was before it!
