I'm Okay!

Thursday, March 10, 2011

I have decided I am okay. I have lost 25 lbs. since Jan. 2010. I still have 12 to go. I have been on a plateau for 7 months. I have tried different things to break that plateau, but it hasn't happened. I have read countless articles, bought work out DVDs, I am preparing better food. No change.

So, I have decided to let go...I will continue to work out, watch my food intake, and enjoy life, and quit worrying about how much weight I have to LOSE yet and dwell on how much BETTER I am today.

Good for you on what you've done. It's good for your health to exercise even if you're not losing weight. Good luck. Dave

Love the attitude! You can do it! I too have been on a plateu for about 5-6 weeks. I understand the stress of it too. Have you tried changing up the schedule of your exercise, if you do both strength and cardio, switch up which you do first. Sometimes this helps me break plateus- which I have been in so many being in college- I feel like I should be living on the flatlands sometimes. Thanks for sharing your blog. I enjoyed reading it.

Scale Success

Monday, January 31, 2011

I managed not to weigh myself until Friday last week..one whole week without climbing on that scale only to tell myself I am not progressing very quickly toward my goal.

Now I have gone another 3 days. It is almost an addiction. I want to make a habit of weighing in just once a week just as I have made a habit of exercising every day.

The exercising has made me feel better, and maybe fewer weigh-ins will boost my morale.

Non-scale victories are just as important. Remember to measure also instead of just weighing, because as you build muscle you will lose inches!

Weather Blues

Sunday, January 30, 2011

I seriously think all this cloudy weather can affect how we eat, exercise and feel about others.

This week felt as though it was drudgery to do anything with a good attitude. I took offense at little things that typically I blow off. It was cloudy every day!

Today the sun is out. It is shining on the snow like crystals in a garden. No, I still don't like some of the things I HAVE to do today, but I don't resent doing them and I don't resent the person I am doing it for.

Happy Sunny Days for all of us!

We haven't had an unusual amount of snow for our area, but just cloudy day after cloudy day.

I feel the same way. Hoping the sun peaks out today. This has been a rough winter, tons of snow.

Energy

Monday, November 22, 2010

It amazes me that I have this much energy. I was always pretty active, but didn't have an exercise program that I did consistently. Now that I do, I feel so much better.

I still don't see myself as a person that is more toned and weighs less, but I do still see myself as I was. Maybe that doesn't make sense.

So, I guess, I'd better get a new picture in my brain. Either I am the new, fit person, or I never saw myself as overweight.

Granola

Friday, November 19, 2010

I have never made granola before. I made a batch yesterday from a recipe found in the magazine All For You. It is so good. I hate yogurt, but this morning I actually looked forward to eating it with some granola in it. I think I will be able to cut out the salt entirely because I really don't do salt. I also used virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Even my husband liked it and had a bowl for breakfast. I have to make another batch before all the kids come for the holiday. Yummy

I've been considering making my own granola. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

Granola is great with yogurt if you can find one you like. And if you made this, you know just what is in it. I am going to have to try to find that magazine and find the recipe.
