Clydesdale" Phase3 and enjoying the beach

Hey everyone, just got back from a 9 day vacation at Dillion's beach (Marin County, California).

I'll be blogging the fun times had but just want to let you know this diet is great! I was on Phase 3 and wasn't as strict as the protocol states, but i'm pretty close to the 199 as my lowest weight. I weighed in this morning at 204.

The best news is that my wife is jumping back on the HCG diet with me. I know how challenging it can be to loose weight without the support of your wife or husband, so this goes out to all you supporting loved ones! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND THE PAY-OFF WILL COME!

We love the scale today, but it's not always that way.

So jumping on the scale today was fun, it told me I lost 6.8 of the recent pounds I gained back. I agree with you it's off somehow. The question I'm asking is; Was it off when I gained or lost?

What ever the case my relationship with my scale is better, I figure we're both headed in the right direction. I think I've been pretty good about jumping on it every day, but not really worrying about the details of the reading. Like a good friend, sometimes it's a bit crazy but makes you smile in the end.

So today is going to be another day of fitness. I have a 35 min walk planned and doing some house work (replacing the screen on the slider my youngest ripped open). Hopefully getting some of the garden weeded. By the way, those of you who like strawberries, this year is the best for strawberries. Mine are growing like crazy! Love that!

Next week I will be finishing the 40-43 days and Friday I will be starting a great beach vacation! Yeah Ha, can't wait to soak in the sun!

"Clydesdale" VLCD33 - sleep is a good thing...

If you haven't herd the Luke Bryan song "Rain is a good thing", it's a good one.

So if I were to write a song today it would be "Sleep is a good thing"... Having 4 kids I've learned a new appreciation for sleep. Last night I had one of the little boy knock at our door about 130 in the morning. Not so bad till I'd just get back to sleep and got kicked in the back by the same one. Thank goodness that he didn't wake up. After a little shifting and pulling of the sheets, I was dozing off again. It felt like seconds (really it was already 330 in the morning) when I awoke to the shreeking of the other little one, screaming (but sleep walking) up to our room. A quick shuffle out of bed and a lift to the shoulder calmed him back down. He needed to go to the bathroom, so I had to wake him up and point him in the right direction. 345 both are in our bed and almost back to sleep. 630 and the alarm is going off... Ugggh so much for good sleep..

Clydesdale" VLCD32 - PIZZA

How do I sum up this weekend.... PIZZA Uhhh... I shouldn't have done that!

Yup this weekend I was week. I had a slice of Pizza for dinner on Friday and a few for lunch on Saturday. I know it's not so bad, but I could have forgone the extra cheese and the poppy seed muffins or the huge bag of pop corn and red vine (yup it's all in my shared tracker). The scale shows it too, 207.6 YIKES.

Ok deep breath and get back on track.

The best thing is I went for a good size run today 3 miles (average 8:20 pace) and it was 102* in the sun. I'm sure I burned off some of that fat and carbs.

We'll here's to being more disciplined this week (and weekend)!

    Well Clyde now that you have repented you can get back on track tomorrow. lol
The weekends are usually the hardest for me because I like to hang out with my friends and nothing beats a gool old hangover for me but some heavy fattening food *sigh*

Just remeber that this is a lifestyle change and them two days arent gonna make much of a impact in your life goal. emoticon

It's been a few days since I've blogged, sorry.
Phase2 Very Low Calorie Diet, DAYS 25-27 in review:
Weigh In Tues. Wed. I held pretty close to the 204 but today BAMMM!!! 200.2 lbs. So close to ONEderland I can feel it! emoticon Total weight loss since 5/27 is 30.8 lbs.

Yesterday I went for a walk to enjoy the sun and get the circulation really going. I told my self not to run, but I broke down and had a nice jog. Distance total 2 miles. HR resting 74 BPM, walk max 94 and running 140. So I wasn't really feeling great, before the weigh in this morning , I did watch motivational TV last night: The FIFA World Cup Soccer. I can't see it being motivating for everyone, but for me it was 100%. I wanted to get out on the soccer field and kick the ball, I was thinking of drills, techniques, etc.



So I am sharing my Spark about soccer with my son this morning (as he watched a little with me before he had to go to bed). We talked about playing this afternoon when I get home and doing "The Circuit". This is from our backpack training we did last year. We essentially exercised ever day for over a month, mainly walking with a pack on, but some days were fun. We mixed it up by jogging a bit, walking stair, and even doing some Comcast OnDemand workouts. We'll see how it goes tonight.

Oh and if you are wondering about the HCG diet and doing exercises, I don't recommend it until phase 3 (eat healthy and only supper healthy carbs embedded in the right veggies). You're going to feel extra hungry and you'll get hypoglycemic, so be careful. I have a bread stick if I have to as it's quick carbs.

Some of you also might know my wife is on Sparks too and she's started back on the diet. Remember you doing this diet means you are a tough cookie, stay strong and watch the weight come off. This diet isn't for everyone, so I really appreciate my wife's comment yesterday, "John, you've been a really good example on this diet. Thank You." It meant the world to me and I realized my patience is really paying off and my family can see a real life example of becoming healthy. What a better gift to give those you love.

I've also been thinking about my next goal of a six pack. I've realized I don't have as much muscle hiding under all the fat as I over optimistically thought. No biggie, I'm going to adjust my plan to incorporate a rebuilding phase so I can gain weight via muscle. Yes I might have to trim some fat after the building phase but that is all about eating healthy and being in control of my well being.
