Don't wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain

This is akin to don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to meet it. Into every life a little rain must fall. People of faith tell us the Lord will never give us more than we can handle. Sometimes I wish He didn't have so much confidence in me! Oftentimes, what appears to be an insurmountable obstacle is but a pebble in the road when we look at the big picture. There are always going to be obstacles if we look for them. Zig Ziglar says obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off your goal. An old joke has a traveller asking a local farmer during a particularly long and hard rainstorm "Do you think it will stop raining?" The wizened old timer responds "It always has before" When rain falls into your life, remember that it will stop. Don't wait for it to stop. Enjoy the experience.

Clement Stone philosophized that despite appearances to the contrary at times, God is always a good God. In "South Pacific" Bloody Mary sings that you've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true.

So, it all boils down to

Thoughts on Huddling

It would be so easy to just log on to my Spark Teams and mindlessly press one of the buttons for a canned huddle thought. I admit that I do this some days when time is more precious than the essence but usually, I try to think of a truly inspiring thought for the day. It usually isn't original with me but something I have come across in my lifetime, perhaps a quote from Norman Vincent Peale or W. Clement Stone. In any event, in posting this quote to each of my seven teams, I am forced to concentrate on the thought each time, implanting it on my subconscious and forcing it into my day.

This is a day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

The weatherman was right so far. It's supposed toi be in the mid to high 60's for the next week. Today is bright and clear and looks to be headed that way! It's nice to be able to walk outside in just shirt sleeves or a light sweater. The cold air is brisk and invigorating but small doses are necessary. Today will be beautiful because I have decided it will be.

  


Winter is Over.....Again!

Well it appears that our latest winter is just about over. All week the early morning temperatures in the teens or low twenties. Up to thirty this morning but highs will be in the mid sixties for the next week. The best part of Atlanta's weather is that winter never lasts more than a couple of days. People up north brag about having four seasons a year. In Hotlanta, we often have four seasons a month or sometimes even more often. It keeps the winter doldrums and cabin fever from setting in and the great outdoors is there for an exploratory walk.
