Use Other's Ideas...But Give Them Credit!

Sunday, May 09, 2010

Will Rogers said we should learn from the mistakes of others because we probably won't live long enough to make them all ourselves. The same is true of ideas. We probably will not live long enough to think of all the good ideas ourselves so we have to use other people's ideas. There is nothing wrong with this as long as you don't pass them off as your own. Borrow liberally but give credit where credit is due. "People tend to be as happy as they make up their minds to be " (Abraham Lincoln) so make up your mind to be happy. "Don't Worry, Be Happy" (Bobby McFerrin) Borrow Liberally but give credit (Roko Pashko)

Don't Worry! Be Happy!

Saturday, May 08, 2010

Worry creates stress. Stress creates conflict. Conflict inhibits our health and well being.

Most of the things we worry about are either 1.) Never going to happen, or 2.) Have already happened and there is nothing we can do about it, or 3.) Are going to happen no matter what we do and there is nothing we can do about it. In fact less than 8% of the stuff we worry about are things that haven't happened and which we can affect. Therefore, take a hint from Bobby McFerrin, "Don't Worry! Be Happy!

Relax and De-Stress

Friday, May 07, 2010

Stress is our greatest and most powerful enemy. Stress weakens us and our immune systems. Stress makes us susceptible to distress and disease. The greatest weapon against stress is relaxation. It does not take much to relax. Find a place where you can be comfortable. Sit back or lie back. Take five deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. Don't think of anything. Concentrate on listening to your breathing. In five minutes your stress level will be lower and you will be better equipped to face whatever the world has to offer.

There is so many days when I could have used this technique. I have been doing yoga in the past and it did help. For some reason I stopped...I don't know why...but maybe I should fit in my schedule. Stress is a terrable thing that works against our bodies. Sometimes we need reminders on how to deal with it. Thanks for your blog...I will have to refer to it from time to time. emoticon

Cultivate Good Habits!

Thursday, May 06, 2010

Habits are part of a giant circle. First, we make our habits, then our habits make us. Good habits are as hard to break as bad ones so cultivate good habits. It takes twenty-one days to make or break a habit. Pick one facet of your life and work on it for the next three weeks, then move on to another one. Don't try to do too much at once. Maybe in the second or third week, you can introduce a new habit to work on but don't do so at the expense of habit number one.

I don't have ANY bad habits. emoticon
I am a avid coffee drinker...and yes I think my worst habit is stressing out at things I can not change. Maybe it is the coffee. No...I have had this problem before I started drinking coffee.
Would I want to break a good habit? I don't think I have any of those either...lol
Great blog...Makes you think

Focus Your Efforts!

It is not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, "What are we busy about?"
