Eliminate the Negative!

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

There is nothing that is good that is negative. By definition, negative is bad. Sherlock Holmes said once you eliminate the impossible, what ever is left is the correct solution. The same is true of negatives. Once you eliminate all oif the negatives, what is left is the proper solution. Phrase everything in the positive. Your subconscious mind does not understand the concept of negatives. If you thought is "Don't drink red Coke", all your subconscious mind perceives is "Drink red Coke". Change your inner thought to "Enjoy drinking water" and the craving for red Coke will subside.

I find that the negativity just zaps all of the energy from people. Bad ripple effect! But since here on SP I find that I am more positive than negative. We all have our down days, but keeping the negativity never helps anyone to get to the positive. emoticonKeep the positive going and pass it on!! emoticon

    Hey! How's this: I am POSITIVE I can't!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Seriously, you are talking my language. It is really very simple:

“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results.”

This is so true! I re-frame as a habit, always stating things back to myself in the positive. Thanks for posting.

Accentuate the Positive!

Monday, May 10, 2010

If you spend too much time working on your weaknesses, all you end up with is a lot of strong weaknesses.

You mean negatives like: I am so FAT! I am so FAT! I am so FAT!

In contrast to positives like: I CAN lose the WEIGHT! I will lose the WEIGHT! Oh yeah I will lose the WEIGHT as I eat healthy, work on my fitness and BELIEVE I CAN DO IT!

Use Other's Ideas...But Give Them Credit!

Sunday, May 09, 2010

Will Rogers said we should learn from the mistakes of others because we probably won't live long enough to make them all ourselves. The same is true of ideas. We probably will not live long enough to think of all the good ideas ourselves so we have to use other people's ideas. There is nothing wrong with this as long as you don't pass them off as your own. Borrow liberally but give credit where credit is due. "People tend to be as happy as they make up their minds to be " (Abraham Lincoln) so make up your mind to be happy. "Don't Worry, Be Happy" (Bobby McFerrin) Borrow Liberally but give credit (Roko Pashko)

Don't Worry! Be Happy!

Saturday, May 08, 2010

Worry creates stress. Stress creates conflict. Conflict inhibits our health and well being.

Most of the things we worry about are either 1.) Never going to happen, or 2.) Have already happened and there is nothing we can do about it, or 3.) Are going to happen no matter what we do and there is nothing we can do about it. In fact less than 8% of the stuff we worry about are things that haven't happened and which we can affect. Therefore, take a hint from Bobby McFerrin, "Don't Worry! Be Happy!

Relax and De-Stress

Friday, May 07, 2010

Stress is our greatest and most powerful enemy. Stress weakens us and our immune systems. Stress makes us susceptible to distress and disease. The greatest weapon against stress is relaxation. It does not take much to relax. Find a place where you can be comfortable. Sit back or lie back. Take five deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. Don't think of anything. Concentrate on listening to your breathing. In five minutes your stress level will be lower and you will be better equipped to face whatever the world has to offer.

There is so many days when I could have used this technique. I have been doing yoga in the past and it did help. For some reason I stopped...I don't know why...but maybe I should fit in my schedule. Stress is a terrable thing that works against our bodies. Sometimes we need reminders on how to deal with it. Thanks for your blog...I will have to refer to it from time to time. emoticon
