A Much Needed Staycation

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

Sometimes you just need to stop doing everything that you have to do for a little while and let the world spin. Forget about work and deadlines. Forget about household chores. Forget about all the stuff that just has to be done. Just kick back and relax. Most of the stuff that "has to be done" is not life threatening. Somehow even if it doesn't get donne, this old Earth will just keep spinning around. Treat yourself. Take a "staycation" every few weeks, wear your pajamas all day, watch videos and generally veg out.

Be Yourself, No One Can Do It For You

Monday, February 08, 2010

Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who your are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different.

All true but most of us don't learn and accept these these truths until later in life.

God is in His Heaven and all is right with the world!

Sunday, February 07, 2010

It is easy to look and see things that are wrong but are they important? We spend an awful lot of our time worrying about things that will never happen or that don't really matter of they do happen! Be a glass is always half full type of person. The road is never as smooth as we would like it to be and there are always speed bumps and pot holes along the way but even if we break an axle on one of them, it can be repaired. Take the obstacles as they come, decide how to get over, under, around or through the obstacle, chart your course and go for it!

God is in His Heaven and all is right with the world!

Just a Lazy Saturday

Saturday, February 06, 2010

Nothing on the agenda. the temptation to be a couch potato is strong. Hopefully my resolve will conquer the temptation. The gym is a mere 3 miles away and the siren song of thin-ness calls, hopefully louder than the television. The house is devoid of junk food so it is a fairly safe place to be. Maybe some home-bound calestenics if I defeat the call of the gym but I am leaning toward the gym, calestenics at home are so lonesome!

I suppose you could walk to the gym and skip the work out. That way you do something totally different.

Love more and all good things will be yours.

Friday, February 05, 2010

Fear less, hope more. Eat less, chew more. Whine less, breathe more. Talk less, say more. Love more and all good things will be yours.

Swedish Proverb

I admit I stole this from Zig Ziglar's Daily Insight but it says it all so well and I have nothing to add.
