It is a big bright beautiful day.

Thursday, January 07, 2010

The sky is gray and the weatherman is predicting snow. Yesterday my daughter-in-law and granddaughter were involved in a car wreck and the car rolled over three times. Thank God for seatbelts! Neither of them had any appreciable injuries and aside from some residual soreness, they are OK today so in spite of the weather, it is a big bright beautiful day.

What a scare! I'm so glad everything ended happily. Hang in there.

Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never Give Up

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

That was Winston Churchill's commencement address to graduating seniors during World War II. There is not much I can add.

Day One is Over!

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

I fell into the same trap as everyone else and set a false starting date of the first Monday in January. That day is now behind me! Eating regimen was observed and I fought the January crowd at the gym to get my exercise in.

One day down, one day to go! I can do anything one day at a time.

It's a Brand New Day!

Monday, January 04, 2010

People make a big deal about the start of the new year or the start of a new decade. (2010 is actually the last year of the decade and not the first year of a new one but people refuse to understand that)

In reality, every day is a new start. We start each and every day with the slate wiped clean. Yesterday is but a memory. It has happened and it cannot be changed. Today is the clean slate upon which we write the history of lives. Live today so that tomorrow, today will be a happy memory.

Now is the best time of your life!

Sunday, January 03, 2010

Yesterday I mentioned the song at the Carousel of Progress at the Disney parks. The song about the great big beautiful tomorrow's being at the end of every day was the original song and is the current song but for several years it was replaced by a song whose words were "Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of your life." That's an even better idea than waiting for the great big beautiful tomorrow because tomorrow is always a day away. Now is here! Enjoy the now while you have it. Otherwise you will find yourself suffering from that dread disease known as the "If only I hadda's" This disease is a disabling as the "SOONASES". Seize the day, Carpe Diem. Now is the best time of your life!
