It's a Brand New Day!

Saturday, January 02, 2010

At the Carousel of Progress at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, they sing a song at the end of each skit that says, "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow waiting at the end of every day!" More importantly, there is a great big beautiful today and it is here now!

Tomorrow is always a day away and yesterday is always gone but today is always here. The worst disease known to man is the "as soon ases". This is the phenomenon where people continuously say "as soon as" something, then I will. Well why wait? Wheat will be really different when the "as soon as" event happens that will enable you more than you are right now? Forget about the "as soon as" and Do It Now!

Once someone gave me a round cardboard cut-out labeled "a round toit". It said, "You finally have the round toit you have been waiting for. Now you can do all the things you need to do!"

We Stand Now At the Edge of a New Frontier

Friday, January 01, 2010

Those words were spoken by John F. Kennedy in his inauguration speech on January 20, 1961. Every year on January 1, we stand at the edge of a new frontier. It is our choice as to what the new year will hold for us. Abraham Lincoln said it had been his experience that people were just about as happy as they made up their minds to be. Life is full of self-fulfilling prophesies. Nothing is but that thinking makes it so. Make but one resolution this year and let that to be to have a positive mental attitude throughout the year.

Beautiful blog! Making ONE resolution and keeping it is better than a whole bunch and not keeping any!
Happy New Year friend.

Random Thoughts as the Year Exits

Thursday, December 31, 2009

A whole lot of bad stuff happened last year and changing the page on the calendar is not a cure all but it does give us a new attitude. We face the new year with hope and optimism. The trick is to keep the positive mental attitude for the whole year. That is a giant undertaking.

A better idea is to maintain a positive mental attitude for just one hour and to do it twenty-four times a day. Actually since you sleep about eight of those hours you only have to maintain PMA for sixteen hours. Then do it again the next day. Pretty soon you will have had a great week. String together a few weeks and you will have a great month and after only twelve months it will have been a great year.

Go ahead, make it a great year

Happy New Year to All

E#nd of the Year Thoughts

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Some thoughts from Zig Ziglar:

The pessimist sees only the mist.

You cannot have good ideas until you have a lot of dreams.

The best dreams happen with your eyes wide open.

What's a genius? Someone who aims at something no one else can see and hits it.

Why grieve because all your dreams have not come true? Neither have all your nightmares.

Counting Down, the End-of-the-Year Cleanout!

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Just two more days left until the new year arrives. That is two days to get all of the bad stuff from the holidays out of the house. Chocolate, cookies, cakes, pies. My usual routine is to eat all of this stuff. After all, there are children in (insert the third world country of your choice) who are starving and my eating this stuff will fend off their starvation. I think a better solution would be to find someone closer to home who would appreciate these goodies or just feed them to the trash can. No real point in backing up to get a start on the new year.
