January has never been one of my favorite months. But I'll try and tell it in words and pictures.
In January, I deflated my spare tire (a little) by losing 3 pounds. I also got some of my speed back. I had pizza twice the whole month. I had 1 cookie the whole month. My protein intake was up. We went out to eat once.
I have a long way to go, but I'm very happy with my start.
I did lots of this and ran some outside, too.
We ate very well; this was homemade pizza night.
I did lots of cross-training; this one is called the Ethan Squat.
Rhonda was the January fitness queen...
...and didn't let anything stop her...
...but some people were going to help, no matter what!
Everyone ate their vegetables...
...but thank goodness it's February!
All of my Spark friends seem to be doing very well, in spite of some challenges. I'm very proud of all of you, but there are a couple who deserve an extra pat on the back. My South Beach Super Runner Girl, Sharon, completed her first marathon last weekend. She's one of many who keep me running an extra mile or doing an extra rep (Kimber!) just to keep pace. I am SO PROUD OF YOU, SHARON! You rock!
Finally, my wife, Rhonda, lost 10 freaking pounds in January! And she did it by hard work and iron discipline. I am so proud of you! She has gotten her pre-pregnancy mojo back and I don't think anything or anyone can stop her from reaching her goals. She's now talking about running her first marathon!
