21 Day Fix

Thursday, February 20, 2014

So, I started the new BeachBody program "21 Day Fix" on Monday. I am SO sore! It's a great program. The kit came with color-coded containers to help with food portioning and a set of DVD workouts. The workouts are all about 30 minutes and they are booty-kickers! They have modified moves for those of us who can't do all of the moves all of the time. My daughter and I have been doing the program together and it must be working since I can barely walk up the stairs ;)

I still continue to log my food, fitness and weight into SP. SP has helped me tremendously with motivation and sticking to it! Thank you SP and my Spark friends! We got this!

One month in!

Thursday, February 06, 2014

I started one month ago today. I am still going strong. So strong that I feel like my muscles are fatigued. I almost took a break today. I was browsing through spark people and saw a link for a Jessica Smith resistance band video. I was inspired to try it. It was a great workout. I then hopped on the treadmill for a bit. Then to relieve some muscle pain, I popped in the Slim n Limber DVD. It felt SO good to get a good stretch. I'm glad to pushed through it. I will need to be careful not to overdo it. I feel like I am so gun-ho right now that I could go too far. I'm keeping within my calorie range and trying to make healthy choices. I can't wait for it to warm up a bit so I can get back outside to walk! I sort of skipped through the Slim in 6. I didn't do 2 weeks of each. They were a little too long for me to want to do them everyday. I'll definitely use them occasionally when I have time and desire to ;) They kill my butt and legs! "If it's burnin', it's workin'"

p.s. I am pretty sure I won't overdo it ;) I wouldn't do that. I just need to not take breaks or I'll get out of the habit. I always take Sunday off. I know that I will be sore, but need to push past it at times.

tons of activity and great attitude .... do be careful tho as getting hurt could derail your progress for days or weeks.

Ramp it Up!

Thursday, January 23, 2014

I've been doing Ramp It Up all week. It is a big change from SIU. It's an hour of intense (for me) work out. It feels good when I'm done. I've also been doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and shoveling snow most days. It feels good to be stronger. I've lost 6 pounds since the year started. I like seeing my fat % go down on the scale and my lean mass go up. I don't notice a big difference yet in how my clothes fit. I feel it the most in my energy level. I've been really good about my calorie count and getting enough steps every day. Life is good. I'm still motivated and on track. I'm doing this this time and not giving up and going back to unhealthy ways!

Back on track!

Thursday, January 16, 2014

I will not give up. I did Slim in 6 Cardio Core Express yesterday and loved it! Today I did Start it Up and then a 2-mile walk around the 'hood. It was COLD outside, but I did it! I love to get my workout done in the morning. Then I don't have to worry about it the rest of the day. I'm on track for my calories every day and feeling good! 2014 is my year!

Ugh!

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Today I woke up to a rainy day. I could not manage to get my booty out of bed. I didn't eat my best, but I still managed to stay within my calorie, carb, protein and fat ranges. My weight is a mystery. I was up a few pounds yesterday and Sunday, but back down today. I was happy to see that it went back down. I did end up walking for 2 miles in the (light sprinkle) rain. It was refreshing. Tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully I will get back on track with Slim in 6!
