New Day

Friday, April 19, 2013

Thank you all for the Birthday Wishess emoticon
I had a wonderful day with my family, and I even had a cake in the face by my granddaughter and niece.
Today I start my new way of eating and that is Atkins/Paleo. I cannot give up my cheese or berries so thats why I'm doing both. I just did labs for my Diabetes and will have a followup appointment next week to see how I'm doing. Not really enthused about it but at least I'll know where I am starting from.
I also went for a walk this morning of which I hadn't done for weeks, but I am planning to do 2 walks a day at 1 mile each. I really want to lose this weight, and as much as I can before September. Nothing special about that month just giving myself a time frame.
Thats it for updates, be blessed Sparkfamily emoticon

    Hey JoeAnne,

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
So sorry to be late with your birthday wishes. I didn't find your birthday in the Introduction, so sorry.

I'm happy that you had a great time with your family.

I am trying to do low carb and paleo also. It is fun and lots of good food.

Keep us posted on how you do.

Fantastic, welcome to the club! I am new to Paleo, and have only been doing Atkins faithfully for about 6 weeks, but I am exploring a meld of both. The food is delicious and I am really happy so far. Good luck to you!!

Feeling so much better :)

Sunday, February 10, 2013

I've sick all week with a cold/flu thing, but I did manage to get to Curves two times last week. It was mostly mucus drainage in my throat causing me to have fits of coughing and wheezing. But things are clearing up and I should be ready for a Great Day of Curves tomorrow and also back to my LC way of eating. I had been eating comfort food for too many days.
Not much else for updates but I'll be back, have a blessed week Sparkfriends emoticon

I've had a cold, too, but i've noticed since I'm eating and exercising well, that when the bug catches me, it doesn't drag me down as bad as before.

Take care!

But why would you go to Curves when you are sick and spread the germs from machine to machine or do they wipe down the machine between when people touch them
one day at a time

50 grams or less

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

I've been trying to do Atkins, and I know it works to bring my blood sugars down. But I am such a bad girl that my cravings just over take me more than once.
Anyways my BS readings have been below 200 most days, but once I start on the carbs it goes back up, that and my weight. So when payday come on Friday I am heading to the health food store to get me some LC, or paleo bread since Bread is my major weakness. Also trying to keep all net carbs to 50 grams or less. (hopefully at 35)
I can do this, also for sure I am going back to Curves and will pre pay for 3 months of service at a time. Yes, Yes, Yes I can and will do this emoticon

I'm learning about diabetes as my DD's 6 year old friend was just diagnosed. Heard at lunch today the Paleo bread is good. One snack I bought for the kids was the Dannon Lite and Fit Greek Yogurt. I think the vanilla tastes like frosting and only 8g carbs.

Best wishes on your journey. I am a recent diabetic and still learning how to eat to control blood sugar. Leaning toward low carb does seem to help me too.

Good luck! You can do it! You also might want to check into getting the La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Tortillas. They are high in fiber, high in protein, and only 50 calories for the small ones. The larger ones have 100 calories. I like them better than bread, and in fact I crave sandwiches made that way now. But then I grew up eating white bread and prefer the taste of that, not a big fan of whole grain bread even though I know it's healthier and would be better for my blood sugar.

Made it through

Thursday, December 27, 2012

This season is not my favorite. Been missing my son RILEY, and my sister Brenda who passed away 2 years ago the day after Christmas. Also with those young children dying just refreshed my pain. Although I will never know how the parents feel, I do know the pain of not having your child with you anymore.
I stayed home for most of the month not going out unless to do some walking but the weather messed that up. Now that those days have passed I am looking forward to the New Year, and am praying that good things come, for my family and friends.
I got my Zip from FitBit and am wearing it everyday, also been consistent in drinking my 9 cups of water and also trying really hard to post my foods to LoseIt. Now I just need to keep adding those exercise minutes anyway I can also I need to be consistent in taking my meds.
That.s it for updates emoticon

I know word can never fill the feelings we go through when we lose someone. My husband and I lost his sister this last Christmas eve. To say the holidays kinda sucked would be an understatement. I will keep you all in my prayers.
