Lots of stress :(

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

I'm trying to get through this stress, it has to do with DSS and court matters so it is constant. This past week I've been troubled with Hives due to this stress but yesterday and today are the worst, so I've been using the benedryl to releave it.
Gonna sit this day out too from exercise but will get back to it tomorrow.

Did you try a bath with Aveeno Oatmeal packets or something else to soothe the hives. Hopefully the stress will let up and you will be able to feel better really soon.

Odd as it sounds, exercise does help get rid of stress.. you don't have to do hard exercise.. even going for a walk helps. Hopefully, you'll get rid of a lot of this stress soon..

hope the stress eases up soon. :( Can you take a gentle walk somewhere (eg not "real" exercise) to get some fresh air and alone time to maybe calm some of those stress responses down? I know that when I'm stressed exercise is the furthest thing from my mind...but it almost always helps if I take a few minutes to decompress.

As it should be . . .

Listening to RadioShine, a christian station, I heard the man say that the places we live are places that GOD has sent us to. Not just for us, but to be blessings to others that are in our neighborhood.
This reminds me of my sister who lives across the street and a couple of houses down, and she was the one who was with me when my son passed away. Her and my oldest son were doing CPR when the paramedics came, and although my son went to Heaven, GOD had put my sister where she needed to be.
For us, we have an elderly neighbor and when he needs help we have been there for him too. I feel so much better knowing that everything is part of GODs plan and that I need to be patient, and prepared.
I thank GOD for letting me be here at Sparkpeople cause you all were here too when I needed you the most. I love you all and pray that you will be blessed emoticon

It was nice reading this today. I live in a difficult place to live (for a young, single, professional person). This town has a sort of dichotomy of sorts: older, retirement sort of people and I'm not sure how to say this...those that may be younger but gravitate heavily towards drugs and alcohol. It's a "smaller" town, in a poor county, with very little career opportunity, the dating pool is murkey at best. I moved here when my mom did four years ago. Prior to, I lived in a big city where the jobs were aplenty, the people were predominately my age and lots of professionals. Don't get me wrong, the city was crime ladden and over come with people and traffic. I like living here now, I feel more of a sense of community. I care more about the people I live amongst, I enjoy running into familiar faces at the grocery store or gas stations, etc and I've been blessed with an amazing job, with a bright outlook for my career, with arguably the best company in the area. Sometimes, however, I wonder if i'm just "settling" here or if I'm truly content. My friends that live elsewhere can't understand why I call this home, and truthfully, on paper, sometimes I don't understand it myself. But, I think it's just that: God put me where I need to be and set me up with everything that I need to flourish. I just need to realize this, stop wondering what else is out there (that's how I used to be, never content always wanting more or different, for the first time, I'm content and I find myself questioning that) and create my life - make my own adventure - find my friends and flourish. Thank you for posting this :)

I've been going to Curves for 2 weeks now and have seen the pounds dropping, so that is great thing, now if the blood sugars would do the same I would be even happier.
Well I am off to Curves this sunny Saturday morning and then to visit the farmers market,

Week of 6/13

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Well last week I did good and made it to Curves for 4 days and did two days of walking. Also I was up by 5:30 every morning which also was a part of my goal. This week I plan on;
1: Going to Curves 3 days
2: 3 days of walking 1.5 miles each
3: Drink dairy at least 1 time per day

Can do, will do emoticon

I love the first two goals, but I'm wondering why you're drinking dairy?

Dairy is usually full of fat. When they say 2% milk, they are measuring by volume, not by percentage of calories. 35% of the calories in (so-called) 2% milk come from fat. I don't think many people would buy it if it were listed as 35% milk though. As far as calcium, plant sources seem to be a better bet, considering osteoporosis is highest in the countries that consume the most dairy. There are lots of great alternatives for dairy.
