It works :)

Saturday, June 18, 2011

I've been going to Curves for 2 weeks now and have seen the pounds dropping, so that is great thing, now if the blood sugars would do the same I would be even happier.
Well I am off to Curves this sunny Saturday morning and then to visit the farmers market,

Ok so I was surfing the blogs and stuff, and I found someone who I want as my role model and that is BUFFEDSTUFF-- You just got to see her page and all that she has accomplished, and the exciting point is that she is over 45. Kudos to her for her success emoticon emoticon

This is what I want to do, to be in the best shape I can be and to be healthy and care for my family. So here I go to be the real me emoticon emoticon

Week of 6/13

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Well last week I did good and made it to Curves for 4 days and did two days of walking. Also I was up by 5:30 every morning which also was a part of my goal. This week I plan on;
1: Going to Curves 3 days
2: 3 days of walking 1.5 miles each
3: Drink dairy at least 1 time per day

Can do, will do emoticon

I love the first two goals, but I'm wondering why you're drinking dairy?

Dairy is usually full of fat. When they say 2% milk, they are measuring by volume, not by percentage of calories. 35% of the calories in (so-called) 2% milk come from fat. I don't think many people would buy it if it were listed as 35% milk though. As far as calcium, plant sources seem to be a better bet, considering osteoporosis is highest in the countries that consume the most dairy. There are lots of great alternatives for dairy.

I've decided to:
1: Wake up at 6 AM for the next 5 days
2: Go to Curves for the next 5 days
3: Eat-Clean for as many days as I can
4: Continue to take all meds as directed for diabetes

I can, I will, I am going to do this!

Why is it so hard to just get my butt out the door and down the road? emoticon emoticon emoticon

To develop a new habit, you must do it for 21 days straight. No excuses, no complaining, just do it.
Start small so you can have success immediately.
When I started to ride the stationary bike, I started with 15 minutes a day.Now I ride for 60 minutes a day.April was my best month with over 600 miles. I did it by starting small.
Just 15 minutes a day.
Look at doing the exercising, dieting and learning new healthful habits as an investment in yourself. You can't tell me you are not worth it.
Start small and do it for 21 days and then just add a small amount to that and do that for 21 days.Over time you will be able to see the growth in your new habit.
If you try this, you will be successful, take the first step.
I wish you well.

I can relate. I'm also having a hard time getting moving. I'm having a hard time finding an exercise buddy. Maybe we can help each other out? We can do this together! emoticon

Baby step is key or else you become overwhelmed and more likely to just quit. I agree, find something you like to do - and agree to do it 10 minutes and build it up from there.

Just tell yourself your only going to force yourself to do it today. Just worry about today. and then do that every day. Its become such a habit for me that I feel guilty if I don't exercise.

You just have to want it more than you dislike the idea. When the desire is high enough, you'll be truckin down the road and proud of it. Maybe you're not there yet.

You're the only thing keeping you from greatness you know.

Sitting on the couch isn't easier than going to the gym, but going to the gym is easier than hating myself every day. It is worth it!

Find a way to make exercise fun, go with a buddy, watch tv while you exercise, dance, figure out what makes it doable for you and you'll do great!

I feel like it's so easy to talk yourself out of exercising or not doing something. I always get on SparkPeople in the morning before I go to the gym. I look around at the motivational pages and it helps me get inspired to go workout!

Have you set your goals too high?
Are you trying to walk too many miles right away?
Remember....baby-steps!
Is there someone who could be your walking buddy?
