To develop a new habit, you must do it for 21 days straight.No excuses, no complaining, just do it. Start small so you can have success immediately. When I started to ride the stationary bike, I started with 15 minutes a day.Now I ride for 60 minutes a day.April was my best month with over 600 miles. I did it by starting small. Just 15 minutes a day. Look at doing the exercising, dieting and learning new healthful habits as an investment in yourself.You can't tell me you are not worth it. Start small and do it for 21 days and then just add a small amount to that and do that for 21 days.Over time you will be able to see the growth in your new habit. Baby step is key or else you become overwhelmed and more likely to just quit. I agree, find something you like to do - and agree to do it 10 minutes and build it up from there.

Just tell yourself your only going to force yourself to do it today. Just worry about today. and then do that every day. Its become such a habit for me that I feel guilty if I don't exercise. You just have to want it more than you dislike the idea.When the desire is high enough, you'll be truckin down the road and proud of it. Maybe you're not there yet. Sitting on the couch isn't easier than going to the gym, but going to the gym is easier than hating myself every day. It is worth it! Find a way to make exercise fun, go with a buddy, watch tv while you exercise, dance, figure out what makes it doable for you and you'll do great! Report Inappropriate Comment |

I feel like it's so easy to talk yourself out of exercising or not doing something. I always get on SparkPeople in the morning before I go to the gym. I look around at the motivational pages and it helps me get inspired to go workout!
