Why is it so hard to just get my butt out the door and down the road? emoticon emoticon emoticon

To develop a new habit, you must do it for 21 days straight. No excuses, no complaining, just do it.
Start small so you can have success immediately.
When I started to ride the stationary bike, I started with 15 minutes a day.Now I ride for 60 minutes a day.April was my best month with over 600 miles. I did it by starting small.
Just 15 minutes a day.
Look at doing the exercising, dieting and learning new healthful habits as an investment in yourself. You can't tell me you are not worth it.
Start small and do it for 21 days and then just add a small amount to that and do that for 21 days.Over time you will be able to see the growth in your new habit.
If you try this, you will be successful, take the first step.
I wish you well.

I can relate. I'm also having a hard time getting moving. I'm having a hard time finding an exercise buddy. Maybe we can help each other out? We can do this together! emoticon

I struggle with that too. Sometimes you just have to fight yourself to just do it!

Baby step is key or else you become overwhelmed and more likely to just quit. I agree, find something you like to do - and agree to do it 10 minutes and build it up from there.

Just tell yourself your only going to force yourself to do it today. Just worry about today. and then do that every day. Its become such a habit for me that I feel guilty if I don't exercise.

You just have to want it more than you dislike the idea. When the desire is high enough, you'll be truckin down the road and proud of it. Maybe you're not there yet.

You're the only thing keeping you from greatness you know.

Sitting on the couch isn't easier than going to the gym, but going to the gym is easier than hating myself every day. It is worth it!

Find a way to make exercise fun, go with a buddy, watch tv while you exercise, dance, figure out what makes it doable for you and you'll do great!

I feel like it's so easy to talk yourself out of exercising or not doing something. I always get on SparkPeople in the morning before I go to the gym. I look around at the motivational pages and it helps me get inspired to go workout!

Take one day at a time. Get a good nights sleep. Tomorrow is a new day. Make one little goad for tomorrow. You can do it!! Best of luck

Have you set your goals too high?
Are you trying to walk too many miles right away?
Remember....baby-steps!
Is there someone who could be your walking buddy?

My week 1 of walking

Monday, May 02, 2011

My days have been really varied in the times I've walked. The least amount being 10 minutes and the most being 90 minutes.
I really enjoyed today's walk, it was breezy and cool and I was able to take my dogs with me. It was only a mile but it was a set distance and I think that is what I am used to.
So, so far thats how things are going with my 40 days of walking with Jesus emoticon

My 40 Day Challenge

Sunday, April 24, 2011

For the next forty days I will walk a minimum of 10 minutes per day. Today starts as 1 and I've got my 10 done,
I chose these days as that being the time that Jesus was on earth, after he arose from His tomb until His ascension to heaven. So as I walk, I will think of my Lord and all he as done for me and my family, and give praise to him. I thank GOD for the gift of His son Jesus and all He did for the people of the earth.
Be blessed Sparkfriends emoticon

emoticon I like walking too. I also started out with 10 minutes and then after awhile, 10 more minutes, etc. My "baby steps" eventually got me to walking 2 miles. I try for three times a week but the weather hasnt been cooperating lately. Best wishes in your 40 day challenge. emoticon
