My eating habits :(

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Ok so it seems that with the amount of teeth I have left (mostly front) that I am eating more of some stuff, like bread, pasta, potatoes and such. It's getting harder to eat meats, although I love chicken, my husband does not, so we are eating more beef and pork. I guess it's the way it's cooked that makes easier for me to chew, but after awhile beef does get old, and being on a limited budget does not help either. Anyway just rambling here.
So tomorrow got to get more minutes of exercise in. Be well emoticon emoticon

Sorry about the teeth problem and you're definitely entitled to rant. I've spent a fortune on my teeth and know that if I did not have as many problems I'd certainly be better off financially. Hope things work out.

My hubby has the same problem, but I still eat fruits in my oatmeal( I make them in the crockpot), same thing with pork, I make it in the crockpot to make it easier to eat. Good thing he loves chicken though. I think you could probably have veggies in soup and have it soft enough too.

My brother has issues with his teeth too-- his sweet lady cuts small pieces and makes a lot of stewed meats in a crock pot or pressure cooker, so it comes out softer for him. She can freeze measured portions once it's cooked, so she always has some on hand for him. That way he can have whatever meats are on sale and it still works.. and adding fish more often too, which is usually a softer texture to start with... and there are egg whites as well which can be added to stirfried rice... There are a lot of ways to get adequate protein without having to grind it up in your mouth! LOL

Hang in there, emoticon

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 Me

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Yep, April 17 1965 1:32 PM was when I met the world.
Now that I am 46 I wonder if being old is not as bad as I thought. I can stay out after dark, I can wear makeup, color my hair, drive a car, read what I want and many more good stuff, Ha ha those are just the start.
Thanks Sparkfriends for being here when I needed you emoticon emoticon emoticon

Not working . . .

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Ok so things did not go as planned with the exercise. I think I am going to do the Dance games and zumba with my girls and hope that counts as exercise. Also walking when I get a chance.
Well, my A1c results are not good, but it improved some, I know I really need to keep up with the meds schedule to get where I need to be.
Not much else to comment about so I am off. You all have a blessed weekend :)

Hi, I had dropped by to leave you BIRTHDAY wishes for tomorrow, but saw this. I am NOT a doctor or anything but I just dropped my A1C from 7.2 to 6.5 in 3 months. The ONLY change I made is that now I eat small meals (300-400 cals each) at 9am, 12n, 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm. I try to have a bit of fat, protein and carb each time. This keeps me from getting so hungry that I overeat. It has been wonderful for me--one of the best changes I have made in ages!! MY dietician and MD both approved of it and like it for me. Of course, please consult medical people for medical advice. All the best to you. I hope you get to enjoy your birthday tomorrow. emoticon emoticon emoticon
PS If you want any ideas on what I do for my meals, as it may be a shift to eat like this, just let me know and I'd be happy to share and/or your tracker can help you, too.

Zumba and dancing sure do count! Anything that gets you to work up a sweat. So dance away... walk, whatever... the important thing is to move that body! It's good for both you and your girls!
