Not happy :(

Sunday, August 08, 2010

How could I have gained 8 pounds in two weeks? Ok, so much for shedding the frybread at my first weigh in. (could it be the new insulin?)
BUT I'm not giving up, although it feels like odds are against me. Meaning that I have a severe sinus infection, a toothache, a sore throat/swollen neck and still being blind, other that that everythings ok. I have faith that with GODs help I will make it through this.
Be blessed Sparkfriends

You will make it, don't despair! A change in insulin can throw your body off temporarily, and being sick DEFINITELY does not help. Do what you know you need to, but most of all, take care of yourself and get better; it's hard to focus on much of anything when you're fighting that kind of sickness.

You can do it! There will be times that are rougher than others, but they are what make us realize that this is a journey and that there are good times and bad, but the point is never to give up. I have faith in you and know you can do this. God bless!

You Can, You Will, and you'll succeed! One of my favorite sayings and I end each of my blogs with it, is this:

I CAN, I WILL, I AM ! (It has really helped me to stay on track because I'm putting so much faith into my decisions.)

Good luck to you!

Losing my vision :(

Sunday, July 25, 2010

I mean eyesight. Not permanently but if I don't do anything to correct it now it can become permanent. Lately my blood sugars have been running high and my vision has changed a lot and I don't like it, I can't read, or get on my computer, or even drive (prefer not to).
Even with the added exercise, my eyesight has not gotten better, in fact since I started is when it changed. But I am not stopping the exercise I have more benefits because of it.
My doctor has me taking one more Metformin in the AM, and now I take 5 units of Humalog just before meals so we are hoping things will get better soon. Also I just did labs so I will know this week what my A1c is.
Have a blessed week Sparkfamily emoticon

I was on Metformin and had to stop this month. It caused me to have EXPLOSIVE diarrhea out of the clear blue. Now my glucose is up. I had cataract surgery several years ago. My vision was greatly improved for a while and then things got blurry again. Went in to the eye doctor. He did a laser treatment and in less than 3-5 minutes my vision was better than it ever had been!

I hope you can find what's causing your problem and reverse it!

Keep on keeping on.

I will be praying for you! Please go to a medical eye doctor as it could be a condition caused by Diabetes. I am a Type 2 Diabetic. I have Right Angle Narrow Vision Gluacoma. Right now it is not serious but I will have to a procedure done sometime. My husband had it done and his eye sight is better.
Anyway, you are proactive and you are taking care of yourself.
Again, I will be PRAYING!
GOD BLESS!
Louise

I had a Captain on our Volunteer fire department that was diabetic and had trouble with is eyes. He would say all the time take care of your eyes, take care of your eyes. He learned to late that it was really about taking care of the diabetes and your own health. A good reminder for us all. Prayin' for you. emoticon

Hello JoAnne,

I am sorry to hear about your current dilemma, but it seems you are being pro-active and that in itself will help you along.. And you're right, exercise can never be a bad thing.. Listen to your doctors, visit Dr. Oz's site, he is really on the warpath about this scourge that is sweeping our nation.. And educate yourself.. We're rootin 4u and we know you will shine brite.. Much success, Mitchie emoticon

Take very good care of yourself! I'm assuming that you are monitoring your blood sugar closely and keeping your doctor informed frequently--this is not something to be taken lightly, as you well know. My husband is diabetic, too, and there are times when it's well controlled and times when it seems to go haywire. I'll be praying for you to get everything balanced out and for your sight to go back to normal quickly!

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope that you and your doctor will be able to figure things out and that your eyes will improve soon. Good for you for deciding to continue with the exercise! I know if I got news like that, I would likely get depressed and eat. You have great motivation!

I am sorry to hear this... I am also a diabetic... and truth be told, I am a BAD diabetic, because I gallop along and pretend I am bullet proof, and none of those complications will ever happen to ME. But its not too late, take very good care of yourself now!

Losing to Win . . . .the challenges

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Ok, so there are things happening and I have become involved in all of them.

1. 100 Mile challenge is on going since may and ends in September. I am currently at 40 miles with 50 days left (got 60 to do)
2. Current is the 5 week Fitness challenge which started last week and will be 45+ minutes of circuit training on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. (It is kicking my buttocks badly)
3. SHED THE FRYBREAD - starts on July 25 and ends in September. This challenge is for the greatest amount of fat % lost. This has a cash award for $2500 for first place, $1750 for second and $750 for third place. Now this challenge is awesome because we also get shirts and that is my motivation, Ok the money works too.

Well got to go and get those miles done. Be blessed Sparkfriends emoticon

I got through it and then went home and slept. these sessions just wipe me out for most of the day but I am glad my honey lets me sleep. Now that I am awake I think I can do 15 minutes of walk so off I go . . . . . . . emoticon
