Meeting Jillian

Just about a month ago Jillian was here in our community. She is doing a special presentation about Native Americans and had chosen a family here in this community as her subjects.
The day this picture was taken, the people in the community had planned a welcome event for her and the camera crew. I came to the event which was at the local park, and waited for her to arrive. The family that was chosen was there also and asked us all to welcome them. There was food to be served but I wasn't planning to stay long to eat. After the speech I went right up to her and hugged her and my sister took a picture and then I left. Sorry guys it wasn't a big hoopla meeting but I just wanted a picture.
The rest of the story, is that she upset quite a few people because she threw out a whole box of freshly cooked bread. I agree that it was not healthy food but someone had taken the time to cook it and she didn't have to eat it if she didn't want to.
Anyway Jillian and the crew were here about a week and had even done a community health walk, but I was busy that day and didn't make it. But next month Jillian is scheduled to come back for more filming and updates on the chosen family. Also there is some Native cultural events happening, so maybe then I will get to really meet her then.

    NEAT!

and i think jillian actually is soooo tender-hearted but on a mission...if she would have THOUGHT for half a second, she MAYBE wouldn't have pitched the bread, but she just wants to fix anyone she comes in contact with...she was on, i think, Dr.Phil with a male (jacka**) trainer and she rode him hard when given the opportunity because he was only talking LOOKS and she is CONCERNED with HEALTH...she cares...

and DO let us know if you get to talk to her next time... emoticon

This past week I have been re-organizing my kitchen, to make it mine. Now I just need to re-learn how to cook, OK not really but at least healthier food that my family will eat.
I've been journaling my food on my IPOD with the LoseIt application. I really like it cause you don't need an internet connection and I can take it with me everywhere. Oh yea, I got my Curves toning shoes and am loving them.
Well got to go add some exercise minutes to my day. You all have a great evening emoticon

    I will agree Sparkrecipes are great, but do what the nutirents on some and make any adjustments you might need.

I've kinda been not at home so much this week. I'm even driving more, and I'm feeling like I'm getting brave or is it control? I know that things will not change unless I am willing to let it change, I know that GOD has more for me to do, I just need to get past this fear. Depression can really bea block to growth but I am doing my best to get through it.
I did sign up for a 100mile walk challenge which will start on Monday and last until September. The group that is sponsoring this will be giving us T-shirts when we finish and Nikes for the first to finish, also we should be getting our pedometers today sometime.

Making May Matter...for me :)

To make this month matter to my weightloss and health goals, I will. . . . .
1. Exercise daily - 10 minutes minimum
2. Log food - Written/Type
3. Do 5 for me - taking 5 minutes just for me to meditate/relax
4. Lose # - Minimum of 5 pounds for May
5. Prayers - Write in prayer journal daily
