So sick and irritated

Monday, March 30, 2009

Since yesterday my throat has been very irritated, but now it hurts to swallow. I keep coughing oogies from my throat, so I know it's not a sinus/post nasal drip thing. This just came on in one day, also my impacted wisdom tooth is trying to come out and that pain is worse. I've been dosing up on ibuprofen, halls and orajel but it only works for 3 to four hours, I did make it to my CPR class but had to walk out to get more meds. i don't think I can get to the doctor or dentist until Friday so please keep me in prayer, I am relying on GOD's power to get me through the next 3 days. Have blessed week Sparkfriends

Hang in there. Are you able to take Sudafed? If so, that may help with the sinus pressure. I hope you feel better!

I totally feel your pain. I remember those toothaches. Oh my. God I pray you give comfort to my friend. Take away the pain until she can get to the dr. and dentist. We pray for rest also as I know this can keep her awake. Thank you Jesus for what you have already begun to do.

I need?

Sunday, March 29, 2009

I need to exercise, any type and amount, so why can't I just get up and do it? I finally went for a short walk yesterday and it was ok, but I don't know if I can get out there today......Ok I'll try emoticon It won't be a timed walk but for sure not a stroll, even though my throat is so irritated. I don't work tomorrow but I do have to go to a CPR training class, I am so glad for a slow week so now I will have time for my Curves workout. Have grreat SPARK week

I say if you don't feel like taking that walk outside - turn on some music and march in place, throw in some arm lifts, some leg kicks etc. and have fun doing it!
Try to shoot for 10 to 15 minutes of just moving your body and having fun doing so! Anything is better than nothing and the 10 to 15 minutes will fly by! Have a great on plan day! :)

Hello Joe, You are not alone. Lots of us who rarely exercised had difficulty getting started at first. When I first started I could hardly last 5 minutes on the treadmill, nor did I enjoy doing it. Now I'm doing 30-45 minutes a day and I enjoy it. Just keep on doing a little bit at a time, your energy level will soon increase and then it will become easier to get moving. You are already doing a goal I set for myself, "Curves" I hope my energy level increases enough for me to join soon. Right now I fear I'll slow others down. You have a great spark week also.

Stay sparked4life!

You can do it so go for it and pretty soon you will be enjoying those walks. A couple of years ago I started out slow and then fell in love with walking and now I need a boot to the backside to get me out there trying.......Like you.....I just need to make myself.
Hope Curves goes great for you. I have seen it and it looks like such a good thing.
Good luck with cpr and have a great night! emoticon

Just kicking back

Friday, March 27, 2009

I went to jury duty but was excused. Thats ok with me cause I was up till 3am on wednesday and needed sleep and also had a bad headache. Things are much better today, I've got time to catch up on my reading and sewing, or whatever needs it. So you all my sparkfriends have a blessed weekend too.

It's working, woohoo!

My diabetes insulin "Lantus" is working and my fasting blood sugars are all below 150. Now if I can figure out how to balance that, the carbs and exercising all together then that will be success.

So happy about the Lantus. My readings have been really good for the last 9 days since I started tracking everything. Good luck and I am thinking it will only get better emoticon

Just to encourage you...my daughter went on Lantus for a couple of months then added Novolog and after a year she lost some weight & she is no longer on insulin!! She is in her mid-30's. Me...well I am 50something & I still struggle. I believe the Lantus helps alot. It's the carb counting I struggle with. When I dont feel like exercising, I use the QuickChallenge team from SP. They have mini exercises you can do throughout the day. It's still better than no exercise. Good job, sister...hang in there...WE will make it as long as we try our best.

ooh I like it :)

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

I really like the new features. But if only I could read it from my blackberry then I would have a much more exciting day. ***************Since I've started taking the insulin I've gained 5 pounds, and I get sooo hungry between 2 and 5am, so i've been keeping some graham crackers near, also because blood sugars have been in the 80s to 120s. It's seems like a losing battle, BUT! I have not given up,

It is a losing battle (losing lbs, right?) and you can do it. Nothing worthwhile is easy and it sounds like you have some special challenges to overcome. Good for you, don't give up! You can lose and be the big winner! : ) teri
