Restarting again :)

Friday, April 03, 2009

Will since my diabetes is almost under control, I've decided to begin again. Which means at the starting weight of 330, where I've been for the last month now. I have two new books, a food diary and a cal/fat/carb count book of which I will start using on Monday. I went to see the nutritionist yesterday and she said my overall choices were good but that I should add a little more protien to my snacks. I know that I need to get in exercise, but it is so hard, and even if I already am walking 8000 or more steps I still need more. I bought a new dvd player so now I can do my WATP cds so thats my plans for Monday. For now I'm just taking it easy until this congestion clears. You all have a Sparktaculer weekend and I'll see you lighter emoticon

emoticonHi :) Sounds good! I use the old diabetic food exchange books & system enhanced with calorie counting. I like the idea of ranges, mix & matching for meals and snacks and found it helps me to be consistent, although my inner 2 yr old child didn't want to cope with this stuff much ;) There's a big learning curve but it so get's easier! Hang in!!!

Glad you're feeling better. Cheers, jules :)

I'm rooting for you, too, sister!. Take your time, dont overwhelm yourself. Just take it one day at a time or even sometimes, one step at a time. Just hang on to your Lord, He will carry you.

Mending

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

My doctor said I have the beginings of broncitis, ear infection and upper respitory stuff(allergy/sinus) going on. So I am loaded up on meds, and also bed rest for 2 days, so no work for me until Sunday. As for the dental I had to cancel but am hoping to get there by next week when this stuff has passed. Again I thank you all for your prayers emoticon

So sick and irritated

Monday, March 30, 2009

Since yesterday my throat has been very irritated, but now it hurts to swallow. I keep coughing oogies from my throat, so I know it's not a sinus/post nasal drip thing. This just came on in one day, also my impacted wisdom tooth is trying to come out and that pain is worse. I've been dosing up on ibuprofen, halls and orajel but it only works for 3 to four hours, I did make it to my CPR class but had to walk out to get more meds. i don't think I can get to the doctor or dentist until Friday so please keep me in prayer, I am relying on GOD's power to get me through the next 3 days. Have blessed week Sparkfriends

Hang in there. Are you able to take Sudafed? If so, that may help with the sinus pressure. I hope you feel better!

I totally feel your pain. I remember those toothaches. Oh my. God I pray you give comfort to my friend. Take away the pain until she can get to the dr. and dentist. We pray for rest also as I know this can keep her awake. Thank you Jesus for what you have already begun to do.

I need?

Sunday, March 29, 2009

I need to exercise, any type and amount, so why can't I just get up and do it? I finally went for a short walk yesterday and it was ok, but I don't know if I can get out there today......Ok I'll try emoticon It won't be a timed walk but for sure not a stroll, even though my throat is so irritated. I don't work tomorrow but I do have to go to a CPR training class, I am so glad for a slow week so now I will have time for my Curves workout. Have grreat SPARK week

I say if you don't feel like taking that walk outside - turn on some music and march in place, throw in some arm lifts, some leg kicks etc. and have fun doing it!
Try to shoot for 10 to 15 minutes of just moving your body and having fun doing so! Anything is better than nothing and the 10 to 15 minutes will fly by! Have a great on plan day! :)

Hello Joe, You are not alone. Lots of us who rarely exercised had difficulty getting started at first. When I first started I could hardly last 5 minutes on the treadmill, nor did I enjoy doing it. Now I'm doing 30-45 minutes a day and I enjoy it. Just keep on doing a little bit at a time, your energy level will soon increase and then it will become easier to get moving. You are already doing a goal I set for myself, "Curves" I hope my energy level increases enough for me to join soon. Right now I fear I'll slow others down. You have a great spark week also.

Stay sparked4life!

You can do it so go for it and pretty soon you will be enjoying those walks. A couple of years ago I started out slow and then fell in love with walking and now I need a boot to the backside to get me out there trying.......Like you.....I just need to make myself.
Hope Curves goes great for you. I have seen it and it looks like such a good thing.
Good luck with cpr and have a great night! emoticon
