My worry

Saturday, March 07, 2009

I started on insulin for diabetes about 3 weeks ago. It is bringing my blood sugars down but not where they should be. I know it will take a while to this all together but for now my fear/worry is the weight gain. Now I commit to daily exercise and drinking my water and by next week I will start following a healthier way of eating

Good for you for your commitment, JoeAnne! My husband has to take insulin shots also. It was quite a change for him. But you're right..it takes a while and hopfully with your commitment to exercise and healthier ways of eating, it'll all be good!

Take care of yourself, diabetes is really dangerous for us.

Drop a line if you need to talk.

I have a family history of diabetes, and it is a constant fear. You are fighting the fight, and I know you can do it! Keep making good choices, and your body will respond. My thoughts are with you as you make adjustments and strive forward.

I hope this brings you a Spark of hope!

In 2003, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. My sugar was averaging 400. After losing only 25 pounds and eating a bit more healthy, I now have a clean bill of health. I am no longer on meds for HBP or Diabetes.

That is the one beautiful thing about Type 2... You can beat it if you put your mind to it!

Alone time helps but also your SP friends can help you as well. Drink lots of water that helps the flush the body, also read some motivational pages on SP. That helps me a great deal. I have saved a few on my SP page if you want to take a look and read a few.

Finally

Saturday, February 07, 2009

I finally got my exercise bike and I even put it together myself. When I finally got on it I just wore myself out. I could only do 15 minutes but at least it's a start. I plan on riding again this evening and tomorrow too.
I know I am so out of shape, and I have missed too many days of Curves, but I will get back to both. I'll be back later for updates. Have a blessed weeked sparkfriends emoticon

I'm happy you received your exercise bike. Keep building and going at it before you know your time will increase. I'm working on that with the elliptical. Enjoy!

It is so hard to fit in exercise but we must. Now with my new diagnosis of diabetes I know this even though I am fighting it!

I haven't tried Curves, I walked in and everyone had this smile on their faces like Stepford Wives. Having been one of those in the '80's I kind of ran back out the door.

But maybe I'll try them again at a different location. The one next to my work closed down.
