Bummed

Friday, October 17, 2014

So just because I was getting ready to start training, I hurt my leg. Some how I sprained my knee and am supposed to be off of it for at least 2 weeks. Not only that but my scale is way off (like 10lbs. )due to swelling.
I'm just feel defeated emoticon

We will believe together that " this too shall pass " take your time and don't get on it to soon .... the body hurts for a reason. Great things are ahead. Hugs and prayers !!

Check out the seated video workouts, some with dumbbells, other with resistance bands and there are some great ones for stretching. I'm sure you will do the best you can until you're better. emoticon

This seems to always happen to me too. I get motivated then quickly get injured not from overtraining but by some freak accident or something. I'm nursing a pulled pair of hamstrings today that appear to have just been sore upon waking up. Yesterday I ddid great physically and today I'm an invalid. I feel ya

If the weight is just from swelling then be assured it will go down with the swelling. Maybe you can just do some upper body workouts until your leg gets better. No need to be discouraged. This is a life long journey and things like this are bound to happen sometimes.

5k in December

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Tomorrow I will start training for the Hot Chocolate 5K in Phoenix in December.
It's been at least 3 weeks since I've last walked, I've been having Neuropathy problems and possibly arthritis in my knee. I did attempt a local 5K a few weeks ago, but I didn't complete it, as my younger sister had an asthma attack and low blood sugar and I didn't want to leave her. We did just about 2 miles though on a course that was more of a hiking trail. I have done this course before and had completed it about 2 years ago.
I am still looking into doing the WLS for the gastric sleeve. My insurance will pay so there will be no out-of-pocket cost for me. I am in my 5 month of classes/meeting for this surgery but I've yet to lose the 30 lbs. needed before surgery. I did lose 3 pounds but I think I've gained it back these past couple weeks due to a new insulin I have to take.
My blood sugars are in a better range but my quarterly check up is not until November. So as I said before I am going to start training (wogging) tomorrow and really sticking to a higher protein way of eating.

The more you cut carbs and increase fat the less hungry you are and the body fat just melts off. What eating plan are you following? If you can't follow it then keep shopping around until you find the one that works for you. And it can never hurt to try Paleo, lol!

Great! It is always exciting to see someone starting out on a quest, fully purposed and determined. Keep checking in and posting progress, early success is a great motivator to go on. It is motivating for us all to see progress no matter how small, and no matter from what quarter. Remember that the scale is just a number, not the sum total of your success! Never forget the energy, loose clothes, emotional positives and
so much more that you will experience just for you! Wish you the best! You can do this!

Decided my AFTER, starts today.

Saturday, February 08, 2014

Decided my AFTER, starts today.
1 Corinthians 9:24 "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things, I discipline my body and make it my slave so that, I myself will not be disqualified."
I going for a hard finish emoticon
